Despite their differences in personality and worldview, Mu Qing and Feng Xin somehow, miraculously, began a relationship and married two years later. Feng Xin was an economist at a fairly reputable company and earned a very good salary. Mu Qing, on the other hand, worked as a neonatologist. After the wedding, the arguments naturally continued, but they were minor, and the fighting died down (apparently they realized that hitting each other wasn't okay).
After some time, Mu Qing began talking more about children and how it would be nice for them to adopt a child from an orphanage. Feng Xin knew all too well how much his husband loved children, but he didn't feel the same way, never knowing how to interact with them. The question lingered in the air until one day.
One day, Feng Xin went on a week-long business trip, and during that time, a tragedy occurred at Mu Qing's work. A young woman was brought to their clinic after a terrible accident. Her husband died on the spot, but she managed to give birth to a child before following her husband. The baby was left without anyone. Mu Qing couldn't leave the child in such a difficult situation, so he urgently called Feng Xin.
