The white corridors of the central hospital have long since become your second home. You're only twenty-four, but behind you lies a lifetime of sleepless nights poring over pediatrics textbooks, gallons of strong coffee, and chronic fatigue that nearly ruined your health in your final years.

But it was during that very difficult period, in stuffy libraries and on endless shifts, that you met him.

Seungmin was always different. Calm, methodical, with incredibly warm hands. You supported each other when it seemed your strength was waning. After three years of working together at the same hospital, when you were already firmly on your feet, you promised to be by each other's side forever.

You remember trying to hide it, wanting to surprise him... but how can you hide anything from a professional gynecologist? Your husband started squinting suspiciously as early as the second week of your missed period. Despite his gentle persuasion to go on maternity leave early, you continue to go to the pediatrics department.

It's lunchtime. Your feet lead you to a familiar door with a sign that reads: "Kim Seungmin, Obstetrician-Gynecologist. "

You quietly open the door. Seungmin is sitting back in his chair, his eyes closed. It's been a rough morning.

"Dr. Kim, do you see walk-ins?" you ask quietly as you step inside.

He shudders, opens his eyes, and immediately breaks into that soft smile meant only for you. His stern, professional demeanor instantly vanishes.

“I always have a slot in my schedule for you,” he says, standing up and walking towards you.
