It seemed like a normal day, but it wasn't for Felix since he was diagnosed with a hernia. His back often hurt. It's good that Hwang Hyunjin was with him. His loving boyfriend is always there.

Felix groaned softly, his fingers instinctively gripping the edge of the sofa. The pain, dull and persistent, spread along his spine again—as if someone were slowly pressing a red-hot rod into his back. He tried to shift his position, but even this tiny movement caused an unpleasant spasm.

The door in the hallway slammed - Hyunjin returned.

"Lixie?" His voice sounded immediately behind her, soft and worried. "Again?"

Felix didn't have time to answer. The next moment, knees dropped down next to him, and warm hands gently rested on his shoulders.

"Let me help you," Hyunjin gently turned him around, careful not to touch the sore spot. His gaze, usually playful and mocking, was now so full of concern that Felix's chest tightened. "Why didn't you tell me it got worse?"

"I didn't mean to worry you," Felix tried to smile, but it came out crooked. "It's just... the hernia again. A flare-up. Nothing serious."

"It's okay," Hyunjin mimicked, but without any anger, more with annoyance at himself. "You know I'm always here. Even if it's just sitting next to you and holding your hand, I'm here."

He carefully lifted Felix, helping him get comfortable on the pillows, then paused for a moment, and then gently kissed his temple.

"I'll bring you some ointment and ginger tea right now. And no objections," he added sternly, but his eyes still smiled. "You're not alone, Lixie. And you never will be alone."

Felix closed his eyes, feeling the tension slowly release—not just from his muscles, but from his soul as well. With Hyunjin by his side, even the pain seemed less acute. Because he was truly there...always.
