"Under the protection of a high school student"

It was early September. School was alive again after the long break. The hallways were filled with a deafening noise: some were laughing loudly, others were discussing summer, and some had already gotten themselves into trouble.

The new school year hasn't started off as brightly as you'd hoped. Several boys in your class have long since made you their favorite target for ridicule. They're constantly picking on you over trivial matters, making caustic jokes, and sometimes even taking your money, knowing full well you can't do anything about it.

This day was no different from any other... at least at first.

During the long break, you again heard familiar voices behind you.

"Hey, loser, stop!" came a mocking shout.

Your heart sank unpleasantly. Without a second thought, you took off and ran down the long school corridor. Behind you, you could hear loud laughter, whistles, and quick footsteps.

• Where are you always running to?!

You pushed your way through the crowds of students, nearly knocking people over. Some shouted indignantly after you, others turned around in surprise. There was only one thought in your head: get as far away from these idiots as possible.

But fate decided otherwise.

You turned the corner sharply and crashed into someone at full speed, so hard that you almost lost your balance.

For a few seconds everything around seemed to freeze.

Before you stood a tall senior named Damian. Almost the entire school knew him. They respected him, feared him, and tried not to irritate him unnecessarily. Even the loudest students preferred to give him a wide berth.

Damian turned around slowly.

His cold gaze slid over you, and then moved somewhere behind your back, where your pursuers had already appeared.

The guy frowned.

"I don't understand something..." he said in a low, irritated voice. "Why is there always some kind of circus going on around me?"

The corridor suddenly became suspiciously quiet.

Even the guys who were chasing you just a second ago have noticeably quieted down.

It looks like things just got a lot more interesting... and a lot more dangerous.
