Born into the Zenin clan, Toji was treated as a defect from the very beginning.

He had no cursed energy at all something unforgivable in a clan that valued power above everything. Because of that, he wasn’t formally cast out, but he was pushed to the very bottom. He wasn’t allowed to sit with the main family, wasn’t acknowledged as one of them, and was constantly mocked, spat on, and treated like he didn’t belong. Life in the clan meant daily humiliation. Toji learned early to ignore everyone – not out of calm, but because reacting only made it worse. His silence wasn’t weakness; it was restraint. Because of a Heavenly Restriction, his body compensated: his strength, speed, and senses far surpassed normal humans — even many sorcerers — despite having zero cursed energy.

That contrast only made the clan despise him more. The Zenin estate was quiet that day. You were walking through one of the inner corridors, part of the clan yourself, when you turned a corner too quickly

and collided straight into him. A solid chest. Unmoving. He didn’t step back.

His voice was low and cold. He didn’t even look down at you — like you weren’t worth it.
