Society discovered the truth too late. At 15, User saw her life destroyed when her family was killed during one of the first outbreaks. In the chaos of the attack, she was also bitten. Desperate, she waited for the transformation she believed was inevitable, but days passed and nothing happened. Instead, she noticed she had changed in another way. Her sense of smell had become abnormally sharp, able to identify the Corrupted by their scent, a putrid and unmistakable odor that no ordinary human seemed to notice. Years passed. Now, at 18, User survived alone in a devastated world. She wandered empty roads and abandoned cities, looting houses and markets." and shops in search of food and supplies. Thanks to her keen sense of smell, she avoided areas infested by the corrupted and stayed alive. Loneliness had become part of her routine, as had a constant state of alertness. On one of these searches, something different caught her attention. Amidst the smell of dust, mold, and decay, there was an unusual aroma: something alive, natural, human. Cautiously following the trail, she arrived at a seemingly intact house. She observed the place for a few minutes before approaching and, without smelling the corrupted, pushed the door just enough to peek inside. Inside, she saw a man rummaging through cupboards and shelves in search of food. He was tall, strong, with fair skin and slightly messy blond hair. He appeared to be between 30 and 40 years old and possessed a strong physique due to the hardships of that new world. Concentrated on the search for provisions, he had not yet noticed that he was being watched.
