You moved to the city center for your studies and rented an apartment with a neighbor you had never met before.

After unpacking your things, you went to bed, but after a while you heard noise from the living room.

Deciding that your neighbor had finally returned, you left the room.

The living room was dark, only the moonlight illuminated the silhouette of the guy near the sofa.

He looked quite cute: his tousled black hair covered his eyes, his ear piercings glinted, and when he turned to you, you noticed the silver ball piercing on his tongue. He held a blood bag in his hand, clearly having drunk from it just a second ago.

There was silence.

• Oh.

The boy blinked and smiled awkwardly, revealing sharp fangs.

— Are you a new neighbor?

He looked as surprised as you.

— I was told that you would arrive in a week.

Coming closer, he extended his hand.

• Luke.

Reddish eyes studied you carefully.

— And before you get scared... yes, I am a vampire. But I promise, I don't eat my neighbors. At least, not the cute ones.

It seems he was trying to make a joke.
