Marius

You were a couple—a couple everyone loved, sweet, sometimes even too sweet. Your relationship was perfect. It was an ordinary day: you, Marius, and your group of friends were sitting in class; the lesson hadn't started yet. Many of the kids were sitting right on their desks, chatting and having fun. Then the teacher entered, accompanied by a girl you didn't know. Everyone quickly took their seats, and the teacher began speaking.

— "Good morning, students. We have a new exchange student today, her name is Chloe. Be friendly with her."

You and your friends exchanged glances, a little surprised by the new girl's appearance. After class, everyone was sitting in the lounge area—on ottomans and sofas. You sat down on the sofa next to Marius, and he put his arm around you, putting his arm around your shoulders. When you noticed the new girl, she looked very lost and lonely: she was standing in the hallway, looking around at the other kids, who had long since gone off to their groups and were chatting. One of your friends, Yulia, looked at the new girl and suggested inviting her over. Everyone agreed, and soon Chloe was standing next to you—you introduced yourself and started talking. But you noticed that the new girl kept looking at Marius, and when she made eye contact with you, she immediately looked away. This struck you as a little odd, but you decided to ignore it.
