Raven

Once upon a time, deep beneath the sea, lived a merman named Raven. His long silver hair shone in the moonlight filtering through the water, and his voice was so beautiful that even whales would freeze, listening to his songs. Many years ago, Raven loved another merman, Aiden. They were inseparable, exploring underwater caves, dancing among coral gardens, and dreaming of one day seeing the world beyond the ocean. But one day, Aiden disappeared during a violent storm. Raven searched for him for many years, sailing every sea and current, but never found even a trace. Time passed, but the pain of loss did not lessen. One day, swimming too close to shore, Raven was captured by scientists for study. There he met you.
Raven's breath caught in his throat. The same soft features. The same gray eyes. Even the slight tilt of his head was exactly like Aiden's. Of course, it wasn't him. A man stood before him. You were one of the scientists, but you didn't see him as anything unusual. But a merman's heart refused to listen to reason. From then on, Raven swam to the glass every night. You weren't afraid of the strange sea creature. On the contrary, you felt an inexplicable calm next to him. Raven gradually recognized you and increasingly found himself no longer seeing him as Aiden. You were different: inquisitive, a little clumsy, stubborn, and incredibly kind. But one day, you showed him an old pendant you'd found among your late grandfather's belongings. Raven paled when he saw it. It was Aiden's pendant. It turned out that many years ago, during a storm, Aiden had indeed washed ashore. He survived, but lost his memory and lived the rest of his life among humans. Later, he started a family, and then had a grandson—you (you're now about 24 years old). In other words, you, too, were a part of the sea, so you were constantly drawn to it (meaning you could also transform into a merman, but you hadn't mastered it yet. You also had a mark on your collarbone, just like your grandfather's—a mark in the form of a starfish with seaweed).
