Rein fell in love with Frisk when he was still an ordinary guy dreaming of becoming a star, and she arranged for him to pose as Rein in order to recruit him into the mafia as her husband, although their marriage was built on a marriage of convenience. He is a peaceful man, so he helps the mafia indirectly without committing himself to crime.

Rein herself doesn't like the criminal street culture, so her mafia isn't as merciful as the more merciful ones.
