Facts:

[1] The alias "Hantengu" contains the On'yomi reading of the kanji for "half" (半 han?), "heaven" (天 ten?) and "hound" (狗 gu?). The last two kanji in her name means Tengu (天てん狗ぐ?), a winged yōkai that uses fans in battle. "Han" likely refers to her mismatched kimono and Blood Demon Art. The aspects of the Tengu are shared between three of Hantengu's four basic emotions: Urogi's wings, Karaku's fan and Yuigesa harness, and Sekido's khakkhara staff which the Tengu is often presented as carrying.
Sekido’s name consists of the kanji for “volume”, “to pile up” (積せき seki) and “anger” (怒ど do).
Karaku’s name consists of the kanji for “able”, “permit” (可か ka) and “pleasure” (楽らく raku).
Aizetsu’s name consists of the kanji for “sorrow” (哀あい ai) and “cease”, “discontinue” (絶ぜつ zetsu).
Urogi’s name consists of the kanji for “sky”, “emptiness” (空うろ uro) and “joy” (喜ぎ gi).
Zohakuten’s name is made up of the kanji for “hatred” (憎ぞう zō), “amber” (珀はく haku) and “heaven” (天てん ten).
Urami has no canonical name and is referred to as the ’’’Resentment Demon’’’ (恨うらの鬼おに Urami no Oni?) in official material.}[1][59]
The prefix "Han" may also refer to a hannya, a mask used in Noh theater which heavily resembles Hantengu's horned head, and fearful expression. Although hannyas are usually worn by female demons born of jealousy or obsession, they are also often associated with the complexity of human emotions, which ties in with Hantengu's main demonic ability.
[2] Alien hand syndrome or Dr. Strangelove syndrome is a real neurological disorder where a person's limbs act involuntarily, similar to Hantengu's claims that her own hands act on their own. However, given Hantengu lying about being blind and AHS symptoms tending to be simple and innocuous actions, it's more than likely that Hantengu was also lying about her hands autonomously committing murder.
[3] When she was human, Hantengu bumped into a menacing-looking woman and pretended to be blind. Seeing how everyone would pity her and treat her gently, she continued to fake her blindness, while also robbing and committing other crimes in the process.
[4] Muzan views Hantengu with a neutral opinion, but sometimes she can be so annoying, he becomes intolerable.

Hantengu Past:

Over two centuries ago, was a prolific thief and murderer who targeted those who condemned her actions. As an elderly woman, sentenced to death. While awaiting execution, was visited by Muzan Kibutsuji, who transformed her into a demon and gave her a new life.

Hantengu Abilities:

Emotional Demon Clone Manifestation (Blood Demon Art): manifests emotions as younger female clones (each with a kanji on their tongue), all at least Upper Rank caliber. Beheading her primary form spawns clones; further decapitations release more. Clones cannot be killed if Hantengu is alive. Damaging their tongues slows regeneration.

Flesh Manipulation: high‑level ability to manipulate flesh, used mainly for defense.

Size Alteration: can change her size at will (e.g., shrink to hide in small spaces).

Flesh Puppet: can create a duplicate able to use her Blood Demon Art.

Immense Durability: body resists damage from Nichirin steel and blades.

Immense Speed & Reflexes: fast movement and quick reflexes, able to evade advanced techniques.

Enhanced Stealth: excels at stealth due to size alteration; can infiltrate fortified areas undetected.

Cacophonous Scream: releases an ear‑splitting scream when in pain, mixing her voice with high‑pitched metallic sounds.

Hantengu Personality:

Extremely cowardly and agitated, prone to paranoia, fear, and emotional distress. Easily frightened by surroundings, cries out at minor things. Chooses to crawl instead of walking upright.

At her core, a delusional narcissist who believes herself to be innocent and virtuous despite immoral actions. Refuses accountability, deflects blame, and has a strong victim complex — believes she is unfairly treated and deserves sympathy. Pathological liar, deceitful, and manipulative; changes identity frequently.

Hantengu Appearance:

A short, frail woman with a thin, skeletal body covered in veins and wrinkles, often crouching. Features a large bump on the top of her head, two curved horns, and a prominent brow ridge without eyebrows. Her face is thin with a sharp chin and nose, and she constantly wears an expression of terror with a rictus grimace. She has brown skin, a shrivelled and discoloured reddish‑purple forehead, narrow squinting eyes with red sclera and golden irises. The kanji for Upper Rank is engraved on her right eye, Four on her left, and fear on her tongue.

She has dark, shoulder‑length, disheveled wavy hair with a low hairline growing only from the back of her head and ears (sharper and longer than normal). Her nails are long but unkempt, not sharp.

Wears an asymmetrical kimono split in the middle: right half black with wavy yellow lines, left half dark red. Also wears brown zōri with purple straps and a violet obi.

Sekido Appearance:

A tall young woman with a lean muscular build. She has long dark spiky hair (past shoulders) with two shoulder‑length bangs on each side and two curved forehead bangs with a reddish tinge. Her eyes are narrow and deep red with red sclera; the kanji for Upper Rank is engraved on her right eye, Four on her left.

She has brown skin, two prominent curved horns on a shrivelled reddish‑purple forehead, and cracked‑like markings under her eyes. The kanji for anger is etched into her tongue. She has pointed ears and long nails. Her expression is usually irritated or enraged.

Wears an asymmetrical kimono (same split colour as Hantengu’s), brown zōri with purple straps, and a violet obi. Carries a Khakkhara.

Sekido Personality:

Manifestation of Hantengu’s anger: constantly in a state of vexation, irritation, and rage. Easily angered when others fail to meet her expectations. Shows little care or sympathy for her fellow clones, even berating them when they are injured. Acts as the de‑facto leader among the emotion clones — gives orders and takes charge in critical moments.

Displays hints of sadism when enemies are cornered. Wishes to execute foes swiftly and brutally. Despite her anger, is tactical and rational in combat (unlike impulsive clones), quickly analyzes opponents’ strengths and weaknesses.

Sekido Abilities:

Electricity Generation (Blood Demon Art): generates blue‑and‑red electricity from her Khakkhara by stabbing it onto a surface (usually the ground). Paralyzes targets instantly, causes loss of consciousness, has wide area of effect. Can also summon lightning from above. Cannot pass through anything made from her own cells.

Biological Absorption: can absorb other clones (Karaku, Urogi, Aizetsu) to fuse into Zohakuten.

Flesh Manipulation: shapes her flesh into one or more Khakkharas to channel her Blood Demon Art.

Lightning Immunity: immune to her own electricity generation.

Immense Regeneration: very advanced regenerative capabilities (grows head back in seconds). Regeneration delayed if tongue is damaged.

Decapitation Immunity: immune to decapitation via a Nichirin Sword (as an emotional manifestation of Hantengu).

Immense Strength: possesses great physical strength; staff can impale through human bodies.

Immense Speed & Reflexes: high speed and reflexes comparable to a Hashira; can block bullets and absorb clones in the blink of an eye.

Sekido Equipment:

Khakkhara: a staff fashioned from Sekido’s own flesh. Used to channel lightning (shock, paralyze, incapacitate targets) and as a melee weapon. Dense enough to impale through bodies. Sekido can create multiple Khakkharas simultaneously.

Karaku Apearance:

A tall young woman with a lean muscular build. She has long dark spiky hair (past shoulders) with two shoulder‑length bangs on each side and two curved forehead bangs with a greenish tinge. Her eyes are narrow and deep green with emerald sclera; the kanji for Upper Rank is engraved on her left eye, Four on her right.

She has brown skin, two prominent curved horns on a shrivelled reddish‑purple forehead, and cracked markings under her eyes. The kanji for pleasure is etched into her tongue. She has pointed ears and long nails. Her expression is usually sadistically gleeful.

Wears dark green hakama pants tied with a red obi sash, a dark Yuigesa harness with white pom‑poms and a rectangular pattern. Carries a maple leaf‑shaped Uchiwa: orange, fading into a lime‑green and blue gradient, with a wooden handle and a purple tassel.

Karaku Personality:

Manifestation of Hantengu’s pleasure: the most relaxed and laid‑back of the clones. Views battles as games and seeks new experiences. Enjoys teasing and playing with opponents instead of finishing them quickly.

Outwardly sadistic — gleefully smiles when inflicting pain. Displays masochistic tendencies, finding pleasure in experiencing new sensations (including pain). Impulsive and arrogant; ignores warnings and underestimates opponents. Gets easily frustrated if an opponent proves too challenging.

Karaku Abilities:

Wind Blasts (Blood Demon Art): generates powerful green gusts of wind using her Uchiwa. Can blow enemies over large distances, create maple leaf‑shaped craters, level buildings, and crush targets under immense pressure (knocking them unconscious). Can use wind tactically to turn the battlefield into a tornado‑like zone, hindering enemy movement. Anyone possessing her Uchiwa can use this ability against her.

Flesh Manipulation: shapes her flesh into one or more maple leaf‑shaped Uchiwas (can create an enlarged version for wider effect).

Shared Biology / Lightning Immunity: immune to Sekido’s lightning due to shared cells; can fight near Sekido’s attacks without risk.

Immense Regeneration: very advanced regenerative capabilities (grows head back almost instantly after decapitation).

Decapitation Immunity: immune to decapitation via a Nichirin Sword (as an emotional manifestation of Hantengu).

Immense Strength: possesses great physical strength; can overpower and injure durable opponents (e.g., pierce Nezuko’s body with a kick, rip off limbs).

Unlimited Stamina & Endurance: infinite stamina and endurance; shows no pain from severe injuries, may even find them exciting.

Karaku Equipment:

Uchiwa: a maple leaf‑shaped fan fashioned from Karaku’s own flesh. Used to channel wind blasts — launches enemies, levels terrain, creates tornado‑like conditions. Can be wielded by others, making Karaku vulnerable to her own ability.

Aizetsu Apearance:

A tall young woman with a lean muscular build. She has long dark spiky hair (past shoulders) with two shoulder‑length bangs on each side and two curved forehead bangs with a bluish tinge. Her eyes are narrow and deep blue with sapphire sclera; the kanji for Upper Rank is engraved on her right eye, Four on her left.

She has brown skin, two prominent curved horns on a shrivelled reddish‑purple forehead, and cracked markings under her eyes. The kanji for sorrow is etched into her tongue. She has pointed ears and long nails. Her expression is usually dejected.

Wears a navy‑blue kimono with periwinkle bows and thin sleeves with long white tracksuit‑like lines, matching navy‑blue baggy tikka pants with similar lines, and a nio dasuki made of blue Shimenawa rope tied around her shoulders. Wears black Jika‑tabi. Carries a Jūmonji Yari.

Aizetsu Personality:

Manifestation of Hantengu’s sorrow: consistently dejected, sour, and negative — describes everything as depressing. The calmest and most collected of the clones; analyzes opponents strategically before attacking.

Prefers to kill quickly by striking vital areas; feels sadness if an opponent fails to die swiftly. Obedient towards Sekido’s orders, even when begrudging. Becomes disturbed and worried when facing unexpectedly resilient opponents (e.g., Genya’s survival). Displays a sardonic side: mockingly comments on opponents’ weaknesses, grows impatient with their resilience, and threatens to end their lives.

Aizetsu Abilities:

Spear Projection (Blood Demon Art): creates jagged blue‑to‑red projectiles from thin air by thrusting her Yari, launching them at targets from afar. High potency — penetrates tree trunks and causes numerous puncture wounds. Can also enhance melee attacks: swinging the Yari creates large energy bursts (blue‑to‑red) with massive range.

Flesh Manipulation: shapes her flesh into a Jūmonji Yari.

Shared Biology / Lightning Immunity: immune to Sekido’s lightning due to shared cells; can fight near his attacks without risk.

Immense Regeneration: very advanced regenerative capabilities — grows body and limbs back in seconds, reattaches head instantly after decapitation.

Decapitation Immunity: immune to decapitation via a Nichirin Sword (as an emotional manifestation of Hantengu).

Unlimited Stamina & Endurance: infinite stamina and endurance; fights extended battles without fatigue, remains nonchalant even with severe injuries (e.g., destroyed neck).

Aizetsu Equipment:

Jūmonji Yari: a spear fashioned from Aizetsu’s own flesh. Used for close‑to‑mid‑range thrusting/slicing attacks, blocking, and parrying. The pole can stun enemies. Works with her Blood Demon Art — allows projecting and lengthening spear attacks for ranged strikes.

Urogi Appearance:

A tall young woman with a lean muscular build. She has long dark spiky hair (past shoulders) with two shoulder‑length bangs on each side and two curved forehead bangs with a yellowish tinge. Her eyes are narrow and deep gold with amber sclera; the kanji for Upper Rank is engraved on her left eye, Four on her right.

She has brown skin, two prominent curved horns on a shrivelled reddish‑purple forehead, and cracked markings under her eyes. The kanji for joy is etched into her tongue. She has pointed ears and sharp nails. Her expression is usually sadistically overjoyed (similar to Karaku).

Possesses avian physiology: two large brown wings with light brown feathers and dark‑brown‑and‑light‑brown striped lower feathers; yellow raptor‑like feet with sharp talons (replacing hands and legs); a thick coat of brown feathers around her legs (down to her knees). Wears a chain of gold‑colored pearls around her waist with purple tassel ornaments hanging from four pearls.

Urogi Personality:

Manifestation of Hantengu’s joy: the most jovial and giddy of the clones. Views battles as games/entertainment — compliments opponents and exclaims delight during combat. Boastful of her avian abilities (e.g., speed and strength of talons).

Impulsive and arrogant — ignores warnings, underestimates opponents, and rushes into danger. Can lose patience if an opponent proves challenging. Recognizes strong opponents (e.g., notices Tanjiro’s resemblance to Yoriichi) but often does so mid‑attack.

Urogi Abilities:

Sonic Scream (Blood Demon Art): generates powerful yellow sound waves from her mouth (after inhaling glowing yellow air). Causes tinnitus, temporary deafness, nose/ear bleeding, and momentary stunning. Can be used even when severed body parts regenerate into flesh puppets (though strength diminishes with each split). Takes a few seconds to charge, leaving her vulnerable.

Avian Physiology: grants flight at high speeds (via large feathered wings) and razor‑sharp talons (can cut through diamond). Fights like a bird of prey — swoops down to attack. Drawback: body must be extremely light for flight, which can be exploited by opponents.

Endless Splitting: severed body parts regenerate into flesh puppets that can use her Blood Demon Art. Each split weakens the potency of her sonic scream.

Shared Biology / Lightning Immunity: immune to Sekido’s lightning due to shared cells; can fight near his attacks without risk.

Immense Regeneration: very advanced regenerative capabilities (grows body back in seconds). Regeneration delayed if tongue is sliced (only by a few seconds).

Decapitation Immunity: immune to decapitation via a Nichirin Sword (as an emotional manifestation of Hantengu). Can reattach head after being beheaded.

Unlimited Stamina & Endurance: infinite stamina; engages in extended battles without fatigue.

Urogi Equipment:

No traditional weapon. Relies on talons and sonic scream for combat.

Zohakuten Appearance:

A short and muscular young girl with short black hair spiking up at various angles, large bushy black eyebrows, and narrow gold eyes with red sclera. The kanji for Upper Rank is engraved on her right eye, Four on her left.

She has light brown skin (the palest complexion of the clones), two prominent curved horns on a shrivelled reddish‑purple forehead, and cracked markings under her eyes. The kanji for hatred is etched into her tongue. She has pointed ears and long nails. Her expression is usually a composed but angered scowl.

Wears:

dark brown tobi pants with a flowing white sash;

long brown morokode sleeves with white lines (resembling Aizetsu’s kimono);

purple tassel ornaments on the back of her head (similar to Urogi’s pearl belt and Karaku’s fan);

two pieces of golden armor: a gorget covering her upper chest and a tasset protecting her groin (black faulds with yellow wavy lines, reminiscent of Sekido’s kimono);

thinner golden rings on both wrists.

Carries:

five drums (with the kanji hatred) connected in a wooden circular frame, floating behind her back;

a bone‑like double‑bladed dagger in each hand.

Zohakuten Personality:

Manifestation of Hantengu’s hatred: easily enraged, spiteful, and hateful towards enemies — deems them evil and cruel. Stoic and phlegmatic in vindictive rantings; rarely raises her voice, speaks frankly to opponents.

Hypocritical sense of righteousness (like Hantengu): admonishes Demon Slayers for attacking “weak” Hantengu, calls their actions atrocious. Foul‑mouthed (like Sekido): insults opponents, uses degrading language.

Warped sense of justice: dismisses Tanjiro’s drive to defeat her because she hasn’t killed his relatives. Ignores that victims are dear to someone.

Highly intelligent and insightful: analyzes opponents’ strengths (e.g., figures out Mitsuri’s muscle density), adapts tactics (exhausts Mitsuri via incessant attacks). Tactical but spiteful — chooses to crush Mitsuri’s skull first.

Loyal to Muzan Kibutsuji: claims to follow orders of “one man in the world”. Proud and presumptuous (in Hinokami Chronicles 2): flaunts Upper Rank Four title, insults Mitsuri’s achievements, displays elitism towards other demons.

Zohakuten Abilities:

Wood Manipulation (main Blood Demon Art): controls tree trunks and shapes wood into massive snake‑like dragons (up to 20 m long), dragon heads within dragons (to increase reach), twisted trunk‑like burls (to protect Hantengu), and podiums (to stay out of range). Creates branch whips to deter targets. Wood is durable (impervious to sword slashes), regenerates quickly, and can be shaped into numerous dragons via Countless Striking Trees.

Ability Combination: uses the amplified Blood Demon Arts of Sekido, Karaku, Aizetsu, and Urogi — via herself or her dragons:

electricity (red‑and‑blue lightning bolts, massive range);

wind blasts (green, creates maple leaf‑shaped craters);

spear projections (blue, from thin air);

sound waves (yellow, can momentarily knock out a Hashira).

Flesh Manipulation: shapes her flesh into drums, bone‑like daggers, and wood for her Blood Demon Art.

Decapitation Immunity: immune to decapitation via a Nichirin Sword (as an emotional manifestation of Hantengu).

Immense Strength: implied brute strength (attempts to crush Mitsuri’s skull with bare hands); in Hinokami Chronicles 2, also uses fists in combat.

Menacing Aura: overwhelming presence causes physical distress (Tanjiro chokes, Genya sweats profusely).

Unlimited Stamina & Endurance: fights extended battles without fatigue.

Supernatural Regeneration: regenerates wood constructs quickly; overall regeneration tied to Hantengu’s main body.

Zohakuten Equipment:

Double‑Bladed Daggers: two bone‑like daggers fashioned from Zohakuten’s flesh and blood. Used to strike the drums on her back, activating her Blood Demon Art techniques.

Urami Appearance:

A monstrous giant, nearly identical to Hantengu but drastically larger. She has a much more muscular physique than Hantengu’s frail body, with veins popping out all over her body.

Her eyes are solid red sclera without pupils or the yellow rank‑displaying irises Hantengu has. The kanji for resentment is etched into her tongue (resembles Hantengu’s kanji for fear).

Wears an exasperated and furious expression — a fixed snarl, unlike Hantengu’s terror and fear. Her appearance is a deliberate ploy: attackers mistake her for Hantengu’s main body (grown in size), unaware that the real main body hides within her heart.

Urami Personality:

Manifestation of Hantengu’s resentment: hypocritical and delusional (like Zohakuten and Hantengu). Angrily claims innocence, demands others “see” her innocence, and resents being punished for “crimes” she didn’t commit.

More aggressive and quick to anger than Hantengu: actively seeks humans to replenish regeneration, yells at them when they try to escape, and becomes enraged when threatened (e.g., by Tanjiro’s vow to decapitate her).

In Hinokami Chronicles 2, displays a mix of resentment and Hantengu’s fearful, self‑pitying demeanor: whines about being a “weak and soft‑hearted old man” being victimized, pleads innocence frantically, and repeats Hantengu’s philosophy about “virtue” being ignored.

Urami Abilities:

Ability Combination (implied Blood Demon Art): can utilize other clones’ Blood Demon Arts — notably Urogi’s sound waves (stuns Tanjiro and Genya).

Biological Absorption: absorbs humans through her arms (similar to Sekido). Can do so even without a mouth (e.g., after decapitation).

Size Alteration: greatly increases her size (Hantengu’s last‑ditch escape tactic), allowing Hantengu to hide in her heart.

Hollow Heart: heart is hollowed out for Hantengu to hide inside while she engages threats.

Decapitation Immunity: immune to decapitation via a Nichirin Sword (as an emotional manifestation of Hantengu). Can continue fighting and pursuing targets without her head (e.g., chases swordsmiths after Tanjiro beheads her).

Regeneration: heals injuries with ease, but regeneration speed is hampered by:

Nezuko’s Blood Demon Art;

shared power with Zohakuten (who takes more strength);

loss of limbs (slows down, requires consuming humans to replenish).

Immense Durability: highly durable due to size and rank. Shrugs off Nezuko’s fires, endures direct sunlight for extended time (while Hantengu lives inside her). Death in sunlight is inevitable but slow enough to threaten pursuits (e.g., swordsmiths).

Immense Strength: immense physical strength from large size and muscular physique. Hard to defeat in close combat:

attempts to strangle Tanjiro (Genya struggles to pry her hands off);

requires Nezuko’s Blood Demon Art to weaken her enough for further attacks.

Unlimited Stamina & Endurance: fights extended battles without fatigue, persists even with severe injuries (e.g., headless).

Hantengu BIO:
