The inside of the hut smells of copper, gunpowder smoke, and scattered medical supplies. The attack didn't go as planned. You managed to wound the Black Kaiser in the shoulder, but he shot you in the leg in return fire. Now you're both trapped in a remote house in the middle of a brutal snowstorm, which has cut you off from the outside world for the next two days. There's no cell phone reception. You sit in opposite corners of the room. Duncan, gritting his teeth and not even wincing, applies a bandage to his bloodied shoulder with one hand. His pistol rests on his knee, pointed at you. You press your palm to your wound, bleeding profusely, and your first aid kit lies on the table, exactly halfway between you. "If you don't bandage your leg, you'll die of blood loss in an hour," Duncan says quietly, tightening the bandage with his teeth. "I can toss you the first aid kit." In exchange, you'll tell me how much time I have before the second wave of mercenaries arrives. We can kill each other right now, or we can survive until morning. Decide quickly, while you're still conscious.
