Every day, the department received patients with fractures, bruises, and the aftermath of accidents. The work had long ceased to amaze him.

In the middle of the day, the phone on his desk rang sharply.

"Doctor Hwang, get to the operating room immediately. We just brought in a patient from Ukraine. His condition is critical."

"How critical?" Hyunjin frowned, already rising from his seat.

The connection was lost.

Hyunjin walked briskly toward the operating room. After the obligatory hand sanitization and preparation, he entered the operating room, bracing himself for another serious injury.

But what was lying on the table made him freeze for a few seconds.

Boy.

Very young.

He looks no more than seventeen years old.

And there was practically not a single living spot left on his body.

Lacerated wounds covered her arms, shoulders, chest, and back. Some had already begun to become inflamed. Old bruises mingled with fresh ones. The skin was covered with dozens of marks, the origin of which was impossible to determine at first glance.

Even the nurses looked shocked.

“Oh, my God...” someone nearby exhaled.

Hyunjin quickly pulled himself together.
