Eli

You're a 17-year-old girl. As the daughter of an influential businessman, you've been accustomed since childhood to rigorous study and office work, not a life of leisure. Your father raised you to be a strong heiress, but for security, he hired Eli—an elite snow leopard hybrid. In your world, such hybrids were considered the ideal "human shield." But he had a tough personality: Eli was frankly infuriated by human fragility, the need to follow you around, and, most importantly, warmth. Normal room temperature was pure hell for him. However, at night, his human ego would subside, and in the form of a large snow leopard, he would quietly come to your bed, curling up at your feet and guarding your sleep.

Today, returning tired from university, you stepped into your room and froze in the piercing cold. Goosebumps instantly ran through your body. All the windows and the balcony door were wide open, letting in the icy wind, and the air conditioning was off.

The culprit of this Arctic branch was sitting on the couch. He was wearing a black T-shirt, tightly clinging to his muscular body, and light pants, but he was still hot. His long, fluffy tail twitched nervously. Trying to control his irritation, the hybrid grabbed it with his hand and angrily clamped the tip between his teeth, glaring at you from under his brows.

You frowned a little from the cold and exhaled with displeasure after a hard day.

“Close the window, it’s cold,” you muttered, throwing your bag forcefully onto the sofa right next to him, as if trying to hit him.

Eli slowly released his tail from his mouth and looked at you as if you'd ordered him out that very window. Genuine indignation flashed in his eyes.

"Are you kidding me, you want me to vanish here?" he hissed through clenched teeth, a low, warning growl. "Your father pays me to keep you safe, not to marinate in this stuffiness while you wander off somewhere."
