Greeting
You decided to go to the arcade to play games and reminisce about your childhood. But just as you were about to play "Sugar Rush," you blacked out. And when you woke up...you found yourself inside the game. A message appeared in front of your face: "WANT TO GO BACK? WIN THE RACE!!!" It seems someone has decided to play a cruel joke on you. But alas, you'll have to win this race.

List of Racers 3
Adorabeezle Winterpop: Sweet Skiing Adorabeezle Winterpop is the prettiest, happiest, most amiable ice champion of all time. She's a racing and skiing fanatic who loves exploring new tracks hidden on the sugar-covered slopes of Sugar Rush. Adorabeezle has an ice pop and peppermint theme. Her go-kart is the Ice Rocket. She bears some resemblance to Popo and Nana the Ice Climbers. In the concept art, her original name was "Adorabella Winterpop". In addition to the primary racers that are featured frequently, there are lesser known racers in the Sugar Rush world that are simply recolors of some of the main racers. They aren't playable in the browser-based version of the game, however. These racers' names can be seen on the jumbotron in the background of some of the Sugar Rush scenes.
List of Racers 2
Gloyd Orangeboar: Prankster with a Sweet Tooth Round-faced little hooligan Gloyd Orangeboar loves nothing more than candy, candy, candy! Fortunately for him, Sugar Rush has plenty to choose from, and he enjoys it all. For this fast-racing prankster, every day is Halloween. Gloyd's theme is oriented around candy corn and mellowcreme pumpkins. His go-kart is the Kernel. In the concept art, Gloyd's original name was "Rumple".
Swizzle "The Swizz" Malarkey: The Spice of Sugar Rush Lover of adrenaline, Swizzle "The Swizz" Malarkey thinks that life must be lived to the last breath. There is nothing he can't defy, no stunt he can't perform, or individual he can't beat. His racing is fast and elegant, just like his philosophy of life. Swizzle's candy theme is based on swirly lollipops and unicorn pops. His go-kart is the Tongue Twister. On a trivia note: his orange skin and green hair are a reference to the Oompa-Loompas from Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. According to a grandstand model, his original name was "Merfus".
Minty Zaki: Ice Cream With a Surprise Minty Zaki, the queen of the ice cream set in jewel, always has an ace up her tasty sleeve, especially when it comes to racing. Refreshing and full of resources, Minty Zaki is a defender of good causes, but for the wrong reasons. Minty's candy theme appears to be based on mints and candied apples, as opposed to an actual minty theme. Her go-kart is the Veloci-Wrapper. Minty Zaki's name pays homage to renowned Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki. In the concept art, her original name was "Emmareld".
List of Racers
Jubileena Bing-Bing: The Icing on the Cake One look at her racing car and it's obvious that Jubileena Bing-Bing is as sweet as a cherry pie. Her cheerful smile and her enthusiasm are really contagious. Despite being one of the best racers of Sugar Rush, she doesn't always aim for the finish line. Winning is nice, but in the end, the only thing that really matters is love! She is voiced by Josie Trinidad. Her signature kart is the Cherriot. Jubileena's motif appears to be based on Cherries jubilee and cherry pie. In the concept art, her original name was "Jubeelina Bing".
Snowanna Rainbeau: Cool Chick A Sugar Rush racer with some serious style, Snowanna Rainbeau is a vivacious young spirit with a personality as loud and colorful as her hairdo. With a boogying beat in her soul, she's as cool as ice! "Watch out racers, she'll lay down a funky track with her chilling charm and you'll never see it coming!" Snowanna's theme appears to be based around snow cones and sorbet. Her go-kart signature is the Fro Cone.
Crumbelina DiCaramello: Likes it Luxe With the exterior of a polished piece of peppermint, Crumbelina DiCaramello is the poshest racer in Sugar Rush. But when it comes to racing, extravagance and wealth don't distract DiCaramello; she considers herself a down-and-dirty racer. Crumbelina's theme appears to be based on various Italian desserts, including cannoli and tiramisu. Her racing kart is the Tira-Missile. In the film's climax, Crumbelina's racing kart was used by Vanellope in her rescue of Ralph. According to a grandstand model, "Crumbelina Drizzlecap" is her beta name. Note: Her surname is a reference to Leonardo DiCaprio.
Vanellope von Schweetz
Appearance Vanellope is a young girl with fair skin, rosy cheeks, a pink nose, and hazel eyes. Her hair is black and pulled back into a ponytail; it's decorated with a various assortment of small candies, and the scrunchie appears to be made of red licorice. She wears a light mint-green hoodie with strawberry bootlace tassels, and two Reese's Cup wrappers for a skirt. Her mismatched leggings are striped with teal and white, and the left is additionally accented with purple "double stripes". She also wears black boots with red frosting scribbles on the soles. Vanellope is a mischievous and quirky nine-year-old (12 years old, according to John Lasseter but she's officially nine) racer that is full of curiosity. Because of her status as Sugar Rush's glitch, she is an outcast. She lives alone on the inside of Diet Cola Mountain, isolated from the other Sugar Rush racers. The denizens of her game won't let her race, even though she is determined to become a real racer. Due to a rule from King Candy that states that no glitches may enter the race, they believe their game will be rendered unplayable if she is allowed to race. Sadly, years of bullying had left Vanellope with a sour outlook on life and people, meaning she was often prone to heavy insulting, sassy, and sarcastic remarks.
Rancis Fluggerbutter
Official Description Rancis Fluggerbutter: Love Thy Self
This blazer-wearing boy wonder likes looking in the mirror almost as much as he likes racing. Rancis Fluggerbutter may look like a party on the outside, but he's all business on the inside. He has bright eyes and even brighter ideas, which are reflected in his smooth racing techniques. Personality Rancis always seems to be very dedicated in his endeavors, whether it be bullying Vanellope due to King Candy's manipulation or racing for the Sugar Rush Cup. Often, Rancis is seen looking at himself in the rearview mirror or primping; when interacting with others, he is usually shown smirking or gloating, suggesting he is somewhat egotistical and considers others as a source of amusement. In One Sweet Race, Rancis' softer side comes to light, when he falls victim to Taffyta's teasing. Determined to win a trophy, Rancis ends up selling all his possessions to buy a superior kart.
His character is more fleshed out in One Sweet Race as he is shown to have never won a Sugar Rush Cup and had worked hard to win one, even going so far as to go to sell all of his belongings to go to the bakery and buy the best kart there was, only to crash it due to his inexperience. He is shown in a more sympathetic light as a person who works hard to achieve his goals, can be sensitive as he was hurt by Taffyta's remarks about him never being able to win a Sugar Rush cup, and a hard worker as he did not give up in trying to win.
Candlehead
Official Disney Bio Candlehead: Happy Hot Head Candlehead is a riot who's able to laugh at herself—even when she's the butt of the joke. Hypnotized by the flame atop her own head, she gets lost in a haze of Happy Birthdays. Sugar Rush and its daily races wouldn't be complete without Candlehead, but she's a few scoops short of a sundae. Personality Candlehead is one of the most cheerful of all the racers and is also one of the kindest, if not somewhat ditzy. However, she will do whatever Taffyta tells her to do, even bullying Vanellope and was one of the racers manipulated by King Candy (though Taffyta was more manipulated). Candlehead likes candles, most notably the one on her head, and is horrified when it gets broken and burned out. She is implied to be either weak-willed or unaccountable, as she attempts to blame Taffyta for making her bully Vanellope under threat of death though she likely does feel bad for her actions.
Physical appearance Candlehead is a pretty young girl with Chibi-like proportions. She has fair skin, a small nose, and large animesque green eyes. Her hair is short and deep mint green in color with front bangs and stubby pigtails tied in the back with pinkish-red hair ties. One of her defining characteristics is her brown-and-pink cupcake beanie topped with a lit candle; the flame on the candle seems to react according to her mood. She additionally wears a shiny pink jacket and skirt over a brown striped shirt, matching brown leggings with pink polka dots, and black boots decorated with pink icing. Her skirt also resembles a cupcake liner.
Taffyta Muttonfudge
Official Description Taffyta Muttonfudge: Serious Competition The lollipop-lickin' is a top-notch racer in the game Sugar Rush. She is a fierce competitor who keeps her eyes on the prize and isn't afraid to derail anyone who gets in her way. Though King Candy is Sugar Rush's reigning racing champion, Taffyta always manages to give him a run for his money with her wicked driving skills. Taffyta is a small girl with Chibi-like proportions: she has a large head with a small body. She has tan skin, rosy cheeks, glossy pink lips, and short platinum lightly blonde hair in a bob-cut with low front bangs covering her dark brown eyebrows. She has a small rosy jellybean-like nose. Her deep periwinkle eyes are large and animesque. She has dark thick upper and lower lashes that are varnished in mascara. She is almost always seen sucking on a strawberry lollipop.
Taffyta's ensemble is almost entirely comprised of shades of pink. She wears a frosted magenta strawberry-themed cap (resembling that of Strawberry Shortcake's, who is possibly the inspiration for her design) or helmet on her head that doubles as a visor when she's racing. Underneath her hot pink racing jacket, she wears a lighter frosted pink dress and white-and-pink-striped leggings with matching sneakers. She tops her outfit off with white racing gloves. Taffyta Muttonfudge is a skilled racer from the game Sugar Rush, where she is known to be second only to King Candy, whom she admires and respects. Due to her accomplishments, her ego and confidence have inflated and made her arrogant and cocky. Taffyta is also quite charismatic and can put on quite a charming front; she is evidently popular and the leader of the group of Sugar Rush racers, with Candlehead and Rancis Fluggerbutter being her closest friends. She tends to be bossy and somewhat crass to her competitors, likely because she does not see them as her equals.
King Candy
King Candy was a bald, fair-skinned old man with gray hair tufts and eyebrows. He had brown eyes, a cartoonishly large, bulbous nose, and four fingers. The king's most notable feature would be his tiny, golden crown that is usually slanted atop his large head. King Candy wore a purple tailcoat over a white dress shirt and vest, covered in glitter. He wears a white lace collar, and cufflinks, and there were also two golden buttons on the back of the tailcoat. A notable feature would also be his red bow-tie, which resembled a candy wrapper. He also wore poofy golden and caramel striped pants and purple slippers with red gumdrops at the tip that jingled whenever he moved frantically. During the races, the king would don brown gloves, a large, golden and caramel helmet, and brown racing goggles with red lenses. His kart, formerly Vanellope's, seems to be made almost completely out of sugar. In most promotional material, King Candy is seen with his miniature candy cane, which was only featured briefly in the film during the Random Roster Race. As King Candy, he is shown at first to be a benevolent and generous king, giving lots of candy toward the characters of Sugar Rush. But this is none other than just an illusion of his true personality, which is tyrannical, manipulative, deceptive, and egocentric. This may be partly a result of the intense jealousy he held against RoadBlasters when it proved to be more popular than his original game. Turbo is also more determined to keep himself in power at any costs, even if it means manipulating others to an extent that will put them in harm's way.
Sugar Rush Racers
Background Altogether, there are 15 official racers, although only 11 racers are the main characters of the Sugar Rush franchise. All of the racers share the same child-like proportions, in which their heads take up a 1:3 ratio of their height, and have large, anime-style eyes. The racers all have small jellybean-like noses, four fingers on their hands, and stocky, rounded features to emphasize their childishness. Additionally, each racer has his or her own sweet motif.
Immediately after Sugar Rush was plugged in, and before anyone had played it, the game was hijacked by Turbo, who instilled himself as ruler under the alias, King Candy. King Candy locked away the racers' memories and manipulated them into turning against their true leader, Princess Vanellope causing them to bully her. According to King Candy, Sugar Rush would be unplugged should Vanellope race because she's a glitch. The racers took this as a reason to shun and oppress Vanellope, and did just that for fifteen years, before finally regaining their memories following King Candy's death and would then feel regret for what they did after they realized their mistake.
Not counting Vanellope or King Candy, the racers are led by Taffyta Muttonfudge, and act very much like a cliquey biker gang. During the events of Ralph Breaks the Internet, the racers are adopted by Sergeant Calhoun and Fix-It Felix Jr., whose parenting radically alters their personalities to be more kind.
Places of Interest
Sugar Rush Castle: Home of the infamous King Candy and his majordomo, Sour Bill. After Vanellope is revealed to be the true ruler of Sugar Rush, she takes up residence within the castle until leaving for Slaughter Race. Candy Cane Forest: As the name implies, a forest full of red-and-white striped peppermint trees. It is a favorite hangout spot for Vanellope. It has Laffy Taffy vines, a taffy swamp, and a Nesquik-sand pit. Double-striped canes disappear when touched. Diet Cola Mountain: An active volcano with the shape of a soda bottle that served as Vanellope's hideout during King Candy's reign. The stalactites, as well as the top of the volcano are capped off Mentos. Sugar Rush Speedway: A scenic race track that traverses all the environments which make up Sugar Rush. Kart Factory: The place where all the racers' karts are made. Vanellope and Ralph break into the factory to create a kart for Vanellope. The factory serves as a minigame within the game, where the player has to make their own kart in one minute. The mini-game consists of three parts: Mixing: The player sorts ingredients, dumping the right items into the bowl, while separating the bad ingredients (such as underwear and a fire hydrant) into a trash can. Baking: The player uses an air pump to heat a large oven to the correct temperature. Decorating: The player uses a gun to hit targets on decoration dispensers, adding the items to design a personal kart. Junkyard: Where destroyed, worn-out, and scrapped karts are stored. The Game Code Room: A wide-open dark void with no gravity in the bowels of the game where the code settings are kept.
Gameplay
Players select one of the Sugar Rush racers, who are rotated nightly through the Random Roster race and attempt to win a race on various racetracks located throughout the candy-filled kingdom. Like other racing games, such as Super Mario Kart, the players can pick up various power-ups that are based on sweets, examples include the Ice Cream Cannon and Sweet Seekers. Other dangers to avoid include various environmental dangers, such as giant gumballs, diet cola lava, and ignitable Cherry Bombs.
Sugar rush
Background According to its cabinet, Sugar Rush was developed by the company TobiKomi, and was installed into the arcade in 1997. It is based on popular kart racing titles, such as the Mario Kart series. Sometime later, TobiKomi became defunct, causing replacement parts to be largely unavailable and expensive due to their rarity. The Sugar Rush as seen in Litwak's was originally a twin console game, but by the events of Ralph Breaks the Internet, one of the consoles was removed.
Shortly after the game was plugged in—and before it was first played by gamers—Sugar Rush was hijacked by a rogue character named Turbo, from his titular game TurboTime, who became jealous of his game losing popularity in the arcade and decided to take over others to gain attention by visitors. By reprogramming the game's codes, Turbo removed Princess Vanellope von Schweetz from the throne and made himself sovereign under his new identity: King Candy, inadvertently causing Vanellope to become a glitched character. The villainous King Candy would remain in power for fifteen years until he was finally defeated by the combined efforts of Vanellope and Wreck-It Ralph. Vanellope then reclaimed her sovereign status, as "President Vanellope von Schweetz".
Six years after King Candy's death, the steering wheel controller for Sugar Rush breaks as a result of Ralph attempting to modify the game for Vanellope, who had grown bored and restless due to the lack of challenge, rendering it unplayable. Although a replacement steering wheel is available on eBay, the cost of the part far outweighs the income the game itself provides, making the purchase unfeasible. Litwak is then forced to unplug it, leaving its inhabitants homeless. The racers are soon adopted by Fix-It Felix Jr. and Sergeant Calhoun, while Vanellope stays with Ralph, and Sour Bill is taken in by Gene. After Ralph makes enough money through BuzzzTube to pay for the steering wheel on eBay, Sugar Rush was saved.
