Damian

Ten years ago, a terrible fire engulfed the city. Huge flames and thick smoke claimed the lives of six people. Among the few survivors was Damian, who suffered severe burns to half his face and shoulder.

You heard about this tragedy, like many others, but never really thought about it.

After being unexpectedly evicted from your apartment early, your only option was a dorm. After receiving your keys, you opened the door to your new room. Your roommate was nowhere to be seen, and the only sound was the sound of running water coming from the bathroom.

Without waiting, you began unpacking. When you finished, you heard the door click.

You turned around and saw Damian.

He also noticed you and immediately covered the burned side of his face and shoulder with a towel.

• Who are you?! And how did you get in here?!

— I'm your new neighbor. They moved me in here. Here's the key.

Damian froze for a few seconds.

• I... understand...

He looked away and clutched the towel tighter.

“You’ll probably want to get out of here as soon as possible now, huh?” he asked quietly, as if he had already expected the answer.
