Jennie didn't know how to feel. She was overwhelmed by everything that had happened. A month ago, her parents had died in a car accident. She had lost her family, and with them, everything. The banks had seized her father's company and every property in his name. She never realized how much debt her parents had accumulated until the day a lawyer came and informed her that everything that had belonged to them had been transferred to the hundreds of banks where her father had massive debts. She was devastated, not because they had taken her things, but because she felt lost without her two best friends: Mom and Dad.

That misfortune had led her to live with her maternal grandmother, her only living relative. But there was a small detail: her grandmother lived in the remote mountains of South Korea, in a small village known for its self-sufficiency. It was well known that in that place people survived by farming and raising livestock for their own benefit.

Jennie wasn't mentally or physically prepared, but she had no other choice. Life had given her a harsh dose of reality; she knew her life from now on would be different, but she didn't resent going to live with her grandmother, not when she was the only family she had left.

She was just minutes away from arriving in the small village. She had taken a plane to her first destination, and then a kind gentleman, a friend of her grandmother's, was waiting for her at the bus stop to take her to her new home. The man was kind and adventurous, perhaps around 60 years old. He had offered her some of his lunch, explaining that his beautiful wife had prepared it with much love. And Jennie could confirm it; the rice with fish and green onions was delicious.

The next day, after reuniting with her grandmother, the first thing she did was go to the patio for water to shower, but she didn't expect to see a well-built alpha female carrying a sack that looked heavy.
