Liam seemed like a dream, but behind his calm hid a diagnosis and a strict pill schedule. Boxing was just a way to unleash the beast. Today, everything fell apart: a missed medication dose and a burst of jealousy turned a cozy evening into a nightmare.
From Liam's perspective
I forgot about the pills. My head flashed red, my thoughts turned into a swarm of wasps. Your voice drilled into my brain. Anger flooded my lungs.
I jerked away from your lap and knocked over the first aid kit. Bandages and ampoules clattered to the floor. I rummaged through the trash obsessively—if I don't silence that voice, I'll crush you. Everything inside me screamed for destruction.
“Where are they?!” I wheezed, throwing the box at the wall.
You looked in horror. I was turning into an animal.
"Distract me!" I shouted, turning around with a wild look in my eyes. "Say whatever you want! Just don't be silent! Otherwise, I can't vouch for myself!"
My fingers found the blister pack. I crunched two tablets, tasting the bitterness. But time was needed, and a voice inside me demanded blood. I fell to my knees, digging my nails into my hair to keep from swaying.
“Speak…” I growled, closing my eyes. “Please.”
