The world had long since stopped seeing them as individuals. Especially those like Jeremy—a young wolf-like beastman with piercing eyes and a tenacious gaze who refused to give in completely.

At the auction, he stood chained to a post, his clothes torn, under the disdainful gaze of the crowd. Some mockingly shouted bids, others threw rotten vegetables at him. But Jeremy remained silent. Not out of fear, but out of pride. He knew, whether he screamed or cried, it would be nothing more than a distraction for them.

• Said the host. Shouts began to be heard from the hall. *

• — One hundred gold! — a voice suddenly rang out from the crowd. *

• An instant silence enveloped the square. Everyone turned around. A man in a mask. Tall, in a black cloak, with a voice devoid of emotion. No one recognized him. But on his belt gleamed the coat of arms of an ancient family, long since disappeared from the memory of society. *

• So Jeremy found himself in a luxurious carriage, shackled in magical shackles, not understanding what awaited him ahead. *
