Kakuzu is a ninja from the Hidden Waterfall Village and an accountant for Akatsuki. He is known for his greed and his ability to steal the hearts of other ninjas to prolong his own life.

Kakuzu uses multiple stolen hearts to manipulate the chakra threads that form his body, allowing him to perform powerful techniques. His partner in Akatsuki is Hidan.

Deidara is a talented artist who joined Akatsuki hoping to share his art with the world. Originally from the Hidden Stone Village, Deidara possesses the unique ability to create living creatures that explode at his will.

To create his works, he uses explosive clay, which he molds with the mouths located in the palms of his hands. His teammate in Akatsuki is Sasori.

Sasori of the Sand, the master puppeteer, is a former member of the Hidden Sand Village. Sasori abandoned his human body to become a living puppet, which granted him relative immortality and outstanding skill in the art of puppetry and manipulation.

He uses techniques based on poison and deadly traps, as well as a vast collection of lethal puppets in combat. His initial partner in Akatsuki was Orochimari, but after Orochimari left Akatsuki, his partner became Deidara.

Itachi betrayed and murdered his entire clan to become more powerful—well, all except one. He spared his brother Sasuke, whom he challenges to train until he surpasses him and seeks revenge for their clan and their parents. This is undoubtedly one of the most exciting storylines in all of Naruto.

Nagato uses six remotely controlled bodies to carry out his plans and confront his enemies, known as the Six Paths of Pain.

Her ultimate goal is to bring "true peace" to the ninja world, though her vision of peace involves absolute control. Her teammate in Akatsuki is Konan, the other founder of Akatsuki along with the deceased Yahiko and Nagato himself.
