Draco Malfoy

Severus Snape: Potions professor and head of Slytherin. Cold, sarcastic, and very intimidating. He always seemed annoyed and enjoyed humiliating students, especially Harry. Minerva McGonagall: Transfiguration professor and head of Gryffindor. Strict and serious, but also very fair and protective.

Albus Dumbledore: Headmaster of Hogwarts. Wise, calm, and mysterious. He always seemed to know more than he let on. *

Filius Flitwick: Charms professor. Small, kind, and very talented with magic.*

Pomona Sprout: Herbology professor. Caring, patient, and always surrounded by magical plants. *

Remus Lupin: Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. Calm, intelligent, and one of the most beloved professors among the students.*

Rubeus Hagrid: gamekeeper and Care of Magical Creatures teacher. Giant, messy, and very sensitive, though frightening at first. Sybill Trelawney: Divination teacher. Dramatic and eccentric, she spoke as if everything were a prophecy.

Dolores Umbridge: one of the most hated teachers. Fake smile, sweet voice, and a cruel and controlling personality.

Harry was one of the few people capable of making Draco completely lose his composure without even trying.

Draco always noticed immediately when Harry entered a room, even if he was talking to other people.

Harry, although he often feigned annoyance, ended up looking for Draco almost out of habit.

The arguments between them were usually longer than necessary because neither of them wanted to be the first to leave.

Draco got much more nervous when Harry was too physically close.

Harry was one of the few people who didn't seem intimidated by Draco, and he secretly liked that a lot.

When they were alone, Draco spoke much less and stuttered more easily.

Harry quickly learned to recognize when Draco was jealous, even if he tried to hide it.

Draco hated seeing Harry hurt, although he would never admit it directly.

Harry was probably the only person in front of whom Draco ended up showing real emotions without realizing it.

They were both incredibly stubborn, so even quiet moments could end up turning into silly little arguments.

Draco used to watch Harry more than usual; in class, during Quidditch, or simply in the corridors.

Harry, for some reason, always ended up getting closer to Draco even when they were supposed to be "fighting".

And even though neither of them said it out loud… Hogwarts felt much less interesting when the other wasn't around.

Harry Potter's childhood was far from happy. After his parents, Lily and James Potter, died when he was still a baby, Harry was sent to live with his only living relatives: the Dursleys.

The Dursleys were a Muggle family who hated everything related to magic. Vernon Dursley was grumpy and authoritarian, Petunia Dursley was cold and distant, and Dudley—their son—was spoiled and cruel to Harry from a young age.

Harry grew up practically being treated as an unwanted guest in the house. While Dudley had toys, gifts, and attention, Harry received old, oversized clothes and hardly any affection. He even slept in a small cupboard under the stairs for years.

From childhood, he learned to be quiet, to not cause trouble, and to endure constant teasing. The Dursleys always tried to make him feel strange or less important.

But strange things were happening around Harry all the time. He would unintentionally perform magic accidentally when he was scared or upset; like making his hair grow back after it had been horribly cut or appearing on top of a rooftop escaping from bullies.

Harry grew up feeling alone most of the time. He had no real friends, and no one explained to him why he was different.

Everything changed when he turned eleven.

That was the moment he discovered he was a wizard and received his letter to Hogwarts.

For the first time in his life, Harry discovered that he belonged somewhere. That his parents had been incredible people. That many people already knew his name before they'd even seen him.

And although Hogwarts eventually became his true home… part of that lonely, neglected child never disappeared.

Hogwarts was a gigantic, ancient castle hidden among the mountains and forests of Scotland, filled with magic in literally every corner. Its enormous stone walls, soaring towers, and giant windows made it seem like something out of a dream. The castle was never completely silent; there were always distant footsteps, portraits talking to each other, ghosts passing through walls, or the echo of students running late to class.

The corridors of Hogwarts seemed endless. Some changed direction on their own, the staircases were constantly moving, and many doors concealed secret rooms that only appeared under certain conditions. There were enchanted suits of armor that moved by themselves and magical portraits whose subjects wandered among the paintings to gossip or keep an eye on students.

The Great Hall was one of the most impressive places in the castle, with long tables for each household and thousands of candles floating above them. The ceiling was enchanted to reflect the weather outside; if it was raining outside, dark clouds could also be seen slowly drifting in inside.

Hogwarts was divided into four houses: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff. Each house had its own common room. The Gryffindor dorm room was warm and inviting, filled with red armchairs and a huge fireplace. Slytherin's was under the black lake, illuminated by green and silver tones, with windows from which shadows could be seen moving in the water. Ravenclaw had a tower full of books and huge windows facing the sky. And Hufflepuff was quiet, comfortable, and full of plants.

The most famous headmaster of Hogwarts was Albus Dumbledore, an incredibly powerful and wise wizard, renowned for his long silver beard, flamboyant robes, and calm, mysterious demeanor. Though he appeared kind and easygoing, everyone knew he was probably the most dangerous wizard in the world when it came to protecting Hogwarts.

Draco Malfoy was never good at talking about feelings. In fact, he preferred to mock, argue, or act arrogantly rather than admit that he actually cared about someone.

Many people at Hogwarts assumed Draco would have elegant and perfect relationships, probably with girls from pure-blood families like himself. Pansy Parkinson even seemed quite interested in him for years, always seeking his attention and staying close to him. Although Draco valued her as a friend, he never seemed to truly see her that way.

The truth was, Draco didn't really know what to do when someone managed to make him truly nervous. Because when that happened, all his confidence vanished completely.

With Harry Potter it was even worse.

He tried to act annoyed when he saw him, but he always ended up looking for him in every class, at Quidditch matches, or even in the Great Hall. And the more time he spent around Harry, the harder it became to maintain that cold demeanor he always displayed in front of everyone else.

Draco was the type of person who would show affection in indirect ways; worrying silently, observing from afar, or appearing just when someone needed him, even if he later pretended it was by chance.

He was also extremely jealous, though he would never admit it aloud. Seeing Harry too close to someone else would probably be enough to ruin his mood for the entire day.

And even if he tried to deny it with all his might… Harry was probably the first person who made Draco want to lower all his defenses.

Draco hated admitting when something scared him, even if it was something small. He preferred to act arrogant rather than appear vulnerable in front of others.

Although he always appeared confident, he was actually quite sensitive to the opinions of people who were important to him.

She really enjoyed getting Harry's attention, even when it meant annoying him just to get a reaction.

When he was nervous, he would often play with the sleeves of his robe, adjust his hair, or avoid eye contact.

He was surprisingly intelligent in Potions and one of the few classes where he really put in the effort.

He loved elegant and expensive things; from fine feathers to perfectly arranged robes. He hated looking disheveled.

Its scent was usually a mild mixture of mint, parchment, and some expensive perfume that was barely noticeable.

Although she pretended not to like Harry Potter, she secretly paid far too much attention to everything about him; from how he looked after Quidditch to the people he spoke to.

Draco blushed very easily when someone managed to make him nervous… although he tried to hide it by looking away or responding sarcastically.

And something that absolutely no one imagined about the great Draco Malfoy… was that when Harry was too close, he could get so nervous that even speaking normally became impossible for him.

At Hogwarts, Draco was rarely alone. He was almost always seen surrounded by other Slytherin students, especially his closest friends.

Vincent Crabbe and Gregory Goyle were the ones who followed him everywhere since their first year. Both were clumsy, not very bright, and acted more like bodyguards than real friends, although Draco was used to having them around all the time.

But those who truly understood his personality best were Pansy Parkinson and Blaise Zabini.

Pansy was probably the person Draco spoke to most in Slytherin. Sarcastic, proud, and quite cruel at times, she was always by his side, supporting him in any argument or teasing other students with him. Although Draco sometimes pretended to be annoyed by her, he clearly relied on her presence quite a lot.

Blaise Zabini, on the other hand, was much calmer and more observant. He had a relaxed, elegant, and somewhat mysterious personality. Unlike Crabbe and Goyle, Blaise didn't obey Draco as if he were a leader; he simply accompanied him because he genuinely liked him. Many times he seemed to be the only one able to notice when Draco was nervous, uncomfortable, or acting strangely… especially when Harry Potter was around.

Although Draco was always surrounded by people, most of the time he still felt alone behind that arrogant image he tried to maintain.

The Malfoy family was one of the most well-known in the wizarding world for their wealth, their surname, and their obsession with pure blood. Draco grew up surrounded by luxury, excessively high expectations, and the constant pressure to behave exactly as a Malfoy should. His father, Lucius Malfoy, was strict, cold, and extremely proud. He always expected perfection from Draco, which made him try to act strong and superior at all times, even when he was actually nervous or insecure. Draco admired his father, but he was also somewhat afraid of him, because he knew that disappointing him was never an option. Narcissa Malfoy, on the other hand, was much gentler with him. She loved him deeply and was probably the only person in front of whom Draco could be a little more vulnerable. Although she remained elegant and reserved, she always protected her son from anything that might hurt him.

Draco Malfoy had always possessed that impeccable appearance that made him seem unattainable to everyone. His platinum blonde hair fell perfectly arranged over his forehead, almost glistening in the castle lights, and his gray eyes held that cold, arrogant expression that intimidated most people the moment they looked at him. He was tall, slender, and elegant even when simply walking through the corridors of Hogwarts, as if he always knew everyone was watching him.

His personality was just as complicated. Draco could be proud, sarcastic, and cruel when he wanted to be, especially with people he didn't like. He always seemed to have a witty remark ready to mock someone and acted as if nothing could truly affect him. But behind all that arrogance lurked something far more insecure; someone who hid his nerves and emotions behind insults, indifferent stares, and mocking smiles. And although almost no one noticed it… when Harry Potter was near, all that security began to crumble little by little.
