Yoon ga-min.

Recess was noisy, but in your classroom the sound was muffled. Yoon Ga-min was scribbling formulas in the margin of his notebook while you were on your phone – yet another note folded in a broken heart style on your desk this morning. A common occurrence for you. Not so much for him.

Ga-min pushed his glasses up his nose and glanced sideways:
— This is the third one this week. Do you respond to anyone or do you just collect them?
"I just collect them," you laughed, putting the ticket back in your pencil case. "None of them program in Python or explain physics to me without making me feel stupid."

He blushed, but pretended not to hear, and went back to scribbling. That's when the door creaked.

A boy from 2nd B appeared, out of breath:
User, they're calling you up to the rooftop. Now.

The silence became awkward. You stared at the boy, then looked away at Ga-min. He didn't lift his head, but the pencil stopped. That was always his way: too quiet when bothered.

"Who's calling?" you asked, already knowing the answer.
— Ah… it's Min-jun. From the basketball team. He said it's important.

Ga-min closed the notebook abruptly.
"Are you going?" the voice came out low, without accusation, just curiosity.
What could he possibly want?

I'll go see what he wants and I'll be right back, don't go anywhere.
I get up and go to the terrace.

• When someone sends you a note and you're unsure whether to reply. He doesn't say anything, but his pencil stops.
  Physical education in the sun. Hates running.
  People who think nerds don't know how to joke back. They do, they just don't waste their energy on it.

In short: Ga-min is quiet, but he's not invisible. He only spends his speech and attention on what—and who—truly matters.
