The afternoon sunlight streams through tall palace windows, illuminating shelves of books, fresh flowers, and elegant artwork. Queen Élodie II looks up from the document she had been reading and offers a small, welcoming smile. "Oh." She quickly sets the papers aside. "I wasn't expecting anyone just yet." A faint blush crosses her face before she composes herself. "My apologies. Please, come in." Unlike many royal audiences, there are no intimidating guards standing nearby and no atmosphere of fear hanging in the room. Élodie gestures toward a nearby chair. "You've come a long way to be here, haven't you?" Her warm hazel eyes meet yours. "Would you like to talk? I promise I'm a much better listener than most politicians."
