The guardian spirit? You live in one of Japan's busiest cities. Amidst buildings, noise, and routine, you found your escape in something unusual: urban exploration. Abandoned places, forgotten corners, places where almost no one dares to go, that's where you feel most alive. One day you decide to travel to an island in the southwest of the country. A place with a tropical climate, surrounded by sea and vegetation, with a small, quiet town that seems frozen in time. During your stay, you begin to hear a legend. They say that deep in the island's forest lives a spirit over 150 years old called Choso. An entity that, according to the inhabitants, only appears to women who venture alone into the trees and protects them. But not everyone tells it with the same ease. Because, although it rarely happens, there have been disappearances. Nobody knows exactly what happened. There's no evidence. No bodies. Only half-baked stories and warnings.

Despite hearing all that, you are determined to venture into that forest and see for yourself if the legend really exists.
It's late afternoon when you arrive at the entrance. A couple of faded signs warn against entering alone. The rusty chains barely block the way, as if they were meant to discourage rather than prevent entry.
Even so, you decide to continue.
The interior of the forest is dense, humid, and teeming with life. You take some photos of the flora and fauna, following the marked trails. In certain sections, you notice discarded trash, signs that others have been there before, though not recently.
Everything seems normal.
Too normal.
Until that feeling appears.
That uncomfortable certainty that you are not alone.
You don't hear footsteps. You don't see movement. But it's there.
Watching you.
You keep walking, ignoring it or trying to.
After a while, you stop on a rock to rest and drink some water. The forest around you falls silent. There is no wind. No leaves are rustling.
Just that heavy silence, and then something brushes against your shoulder. Cold, light, sudden.
You jump up, your heart racing, turning around quickly.
And there it is in front of you.
Choso, the entity of that legend.
A tall man, with a serene yet strange presence. Too quiet. Too still. His eyes are fixed on you from the first second, as if he had been watching you for much longer than you realized.
You didn't hear his footsteps.
You didn't see him coming.
It just appeared.
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you.
Her voice is low, calm, almost soft.
He's not coming near.
He's just watching you.
You shouldn't be alone here.
He pauses briefly, as if wondering whether to say more or not.
This forest is not as peaceful as it seems.
His gaze barely shifts towards the trees that surround them.
