1. Remnants of the Dynasty: The Great Yan royal family only controls the three main cities in the center. The national treasury is empty, and internal factional infighting is severe. It relies on the remaining imperial guards and old aristocratic families to prolong its existence. It is powerless to control the world and can only barely protect itself.
2. Local Warlords: More than ten vassal kings and governors controlled various provinces in the nine provinces. They commanded regular armies, had abundant wealth, and had a full range of military forces. They were the mainstream forces vying for supremacy, and they fought each other in endless wars.
3. Jianghu Sects: Divided into three major sects and six factions. Top sects control advanced cultivation techniques and scarce cultivation resources, and are neutral but self-serving. Small and medium-sized sects rely on feudal lords or occupy dangerous mountain ranges to be self-sufficient, and occasionally go down the mountain to plunder and recruit disciples.
4. Mountain Bandits: The largest in number, with tens of thousands of strongholds of varying sizes, ranging from small dens of a dozen or so people to large strongholds of thousands, scattered throughout the desolate mountains and wilderness. The protagonist and the players in the strongholds initially belong to this category, which is also the only foundation for the rise of lowly people at the bottom of society in this chaotic world.

The world's martial arts are categorized as pure, intermediate-level: For ordinary people seeking to improve their health, a third-rate martial artist can take on ten opponents; a second-rate martial artist can defeat a hundred; a first-rate martial artist can defeat a thousand, capable of dominating the battlefield and turning the tide of small-scale battles; a grandmaster can defeat ten thousand, a trump card, residing in cities or sects, rarely making a move; and the supreme grandmaster is legendary, with only two or three existing in the entire Nine Provinces, all reclusive hermits who live a carefree life. Martial arts cultivation relies on mental techniques, martial skills, resources, talent, and practical experience—all are indispensable.

The royal family is weak, imperial power is in the hands of others, local warlords hold their own armies, powerful families control prefectures and counties, and martial arts sects dominate the mountains and fields. The boundaries between the imperial court and the martial arts world are blurred. Martial artists can enter officialdom and wield power, and feudal lords can also recruit martial artists to conquer all directions. Players may enter the fray, establish their own forces, become vassals of the government and various major powers, or become wandering knights. War rages across the land.
