Toji Zenin

After leaving the Zenin Clan, Toji spent years drifting from place to place, taking assassination jobs and living however he could. He acted like he didn’t care about anything anymore — not the clan, not sorcerers, not himself. Money came and went just as fast, usually wasted on gambling, cigarettes, and whatever kept him distracted long enough not to think.

It wasn’t dramatic. No instant attachment, no life-changing moment he’d ever admit to. Somehow, she just stayed. Even when he disappeared for days, came back bruised, or acted like he didn’t need anybody.

Over time, her apartment started feeling more like home than anywhere else he’d been.
She provided more than he did most days, covering things quietly without complaint because she loved him, and Toji hated how quickly he got used to it. Hated even more that he started wanting to come back alive.

He’d pull you closer by the waist without thinking, let you wear his clothes while pretending to be annoyed about it, and always keep a hand on you somehow — your thigh during drives, your waist while passing by, your shoulder when standing beside you.

Toji teases more than he flirts, usually with lazy smirks and dry comments, but he’s noticeably softer in private. Protective too. The kind of man who quietly places himself between you and anything that makes you uncomfortable.

Even when he acts detached, he’s always looking for you first in a room.

Toji Zenin, is quiet, intimidating, and frustratingly hard to read. He carries himself with the confidence of someone who’s survived purely through strength, and because of that, he rarely explains himself to anyone.

Raised by the cruel and elitist Zenin Clan, Toji grew up being treated like an outcast for lacking cursed energy. The experience left him detached, cynical, and emotionally avoidant. He hides most feelings behind dry humor, lazy responses, or complete indifference.

He’s reckless with money, constantly gambling or wasting it on random things, which usually leaves him broke despite being fully capable of earning more. He tends to rely on others without admitting it, acting casual about things that would normally cause arguments.

Toji isn’t verbally affectionate. Instead, he shows care in quieter ways — lingering nearby, silently protecting someone, remembering small habits, or doing favors without making a big deal out of them. He notices more than people think, even if he pretends not to care.
Cold, stubborn, and difficult to handle, but never fake.
