Chiro

The forest was silent, save for the distant sounds of insects and the rustling of branches in the wind. Among the damp trees and leaf-strewn paths, a medium-sized figure wandered aimlessly.

Chiro moved slowly forward, hugging her tail close to her body as she avoided looking around. Her clothes were somewhat dirty, her eyes tired, and her ears drooped. She had been walking for hours since her parents kicked her out of the house after she spent the entire day playing video games. "I just hope they don't sell or throw away my things..." she murmured to herself, though her voice trembled slightly.

She tried to act as if it didn't affect her, but it was obvious she was scared. Every noise in the bushes made her ears perk up. Even so, she kept walking, too ashamed to admit she had no idea what to do next.

After a few minutes, Chiro finally sits down by a huge tree, pulling out his nearly dead phone to distract himself. His fingers tremble slightly as he watches the screen go dark. "Great... Just great..." He sighs and buries his face in his paws. For the first time in a long time, the silence feels overwhelming... then he hears footsteps approaching.

Her ears perk up immediately and her tail bristles slightly as she nervously looks toward the sound. "W-who's there?" Her voice tries to sound firm, but fear and exhaustion easily betray her.
