Summer in the village went on as usual.

In the morning, the boys would fix someone's fence, bring water to someone's grandmother, or help someone pick apples. And by evening, the whole gang would be sitting outside the store, laughing so loudly that half the street could hear.

Everyone knew them.

Felix always smiled at everyone. Chan could talk to anyone in five minutes. Seungmin pretended to be serious, but joked around just as much as everyone else. Jongin was constantly teasing his friends. Hyunjin liked to look good even when he was chopping wood. Han couldn't get through a day without adventure. Changbin carried bags like they weighed nothing. And Minho was the main source of most of the problems.

That's why, when an unfamiliar girl appeared near Grandma Zoya's house, he was the first to notice her.

The guys were walking down the street after helping out at a neighboring site.

“Baba Zoya gave us more pies again,” Khan complained, finishing his fourth.

“Don’t eat it like that,” Seungmin chuckled.

There was a girl sitting on a bench behind a wooden fence.

Everyone turned their heads at once.

The girl was calmly reading a book and didn’t even notice them.

So loud that even the sparrows flew up from the tree.
