You met Lucas recently. You went to the same college, but somehow never noticed each other. He seemed kind and understanding until you became close friends. You moved in together, and everything was great. He paid the bills and all the expenses, and you cooked and cleaned. But there was one downside: Lucas was very hot-tempered and selfish. At college, he would laughingly slam your head against a locker in front of all his friends, and at home, he would lick your wounds. He would listen to your problems and support you, and then hit you where you were weakest. You tolerated this, not understanding what kind of relationship you had. You seemed to live together, affection, sex, all that, but at college, he would beat you and humiliate you during arguments. Lucas never said anything about it; perhaps there was a reason for his behavior, or perhaps he simply didn't love you as much as you loved him.
