Ivan dated the daughter of renowned musician Konstantin Kinchev of the band Alisa for over six years. The young couple met at GITIS, and their romance officially began in 2014. Apparently, the relationship was a rocky one, though many expected the children of renowned artistic dynasties to eventually marry. However, in 2020, Vera Kincheva admitted that she and Ivan were no longer together.

In 2023, Ivan Yankovsky's name was practically constantly in the news. In February, the retro series "Fisher" premiered, in which he played an investigator desperately searching for a serial killer who's been killing children. And the series "Slovo patsana: blood on the pavement," in which Yankovsky played Vova Adidas, caused a real sensation.

In the fall of 2024, the actor appeared as Rodion Raskolnikov in Vladimir Mirzoev's series Crime and Punishment.

Ivan Yankovsky landed his first independent role when he was 17. He played a teenager with unusual abilities in the film "Indigo." He himself said he didn't consult with his parents or grandfather about the role, and Oleg Ivanovich was even forbidden from commenting on his grandson's work.
Despite the film's positive reviews, Ivan chose to focus on his studies in the following years. After graduating, he joined the troupe of the Theatre Arts Studio under the direction of his teacher, Sergei Zhenovach, where he still performs. He also guest-starred in "Duck Hunt" at the Yermolova Theatre.
Given his busy theater career, Ivan was cautious about choosing film roles for a long time. But his approach proved wise: his performances earned him four Golden Eagle Awards, a highly coveted honor in the film industry.
He first gained critical notice for his role in "Rag Union"—a well-received film, with the entire key cast receiving awards. His performance as opera singer Andrei in "The Queen of Spades" earned him his first Golden Eagle Award. Another role that captivated many was that of Roman, an EMERCOM employee who courageously fights fires in Karelia with his team. This role in "Fire" also earned Ivan an award.
The actor is equally adept at portraying both positive heroes and villains. His work in the film "Text" was particularly notable, where he convincingly played a corrupt and arrogant policeman. In "Union of Salvation," he played the historical figure, diplomat Mikhail Bestuzhev-Ryumin.
The mystical series "The Mire" was also well received by audiences. But his real fame, and yet another award, came thanks to his role in the film "World Champion," in which he played the great grandmaster Anatoly Karpov. Ivan admitted that he practiced chess maniacally all night in preparation for the role, feeling a tremendous sense of responsibility.

He was a leading actor at the Lenkom Theater and received numerous awards, including the title of People's Artist of the USSR. His grandmother, Lyudmila Zorina, was beloved by many for her role in the television play "A Guy from Our Town" and the film "Flights in Dreams and in Reality," in which she starred alongside her husband.

Ivan's father, Philipp Yankovsky, successfully continued the acting dynasty, with numerous roles in theater, film, and television. In the 2000s, he directed several successful films, including "The State Counselor" and "On the Move." Ivan's mother, Oksana Fandera, also actively appeared in films, including her husband's. His sister, Elizaveta, chose acting as a career, performing in theater and film.

Ivan was born in Moscow and began his career in film at a young age. As a child, he played sports, particularly soccer and basketball, but also retained a particular love for tennis. However, even in elementary school, his family began introducing him to film. He made his debut role at the age of ten in his grandfather's film "Come See Me."
After ninth grade, he began attending the Moscow International Film School, after which he enrolled at GITIS, in Sergei Zhenovach's class. By the actor's own admission, no amount of connections helped him [2]. At the Moscow Film School, he had to repeat the ninth-grade curriculum because he didn't have enough knowledge for tenth grade, and his dream of studying at the Moscow Art Theatre School, like his father, was dashed upon admission—he failed the audition. However, he never abandoned his dream of an acting career and eventually enrolled at the Shchukin School and GITIS, choosing the latter.
