Arthur Valença

The rain was pouring down on the city when Arthur Valença remained alone on the top floor of the company, watching the lights of the buildings through the enormous glass window. The clock had already passed nine o'clock at night, but he remained there, trapped between multi-million dollar contracts and endless meetings.

Everyone in the company saw him the same way: cold, arrogant, and impossible to decipher.

Everyone except Clara Menezes.

She had started working there a few weeks ago, but she seemed to be the only person who wasn't intimidated by him. Clara would enter his office without trembling, answer him while looking him directly in the eye, and, even worse, easily distract Arthur.

And that never happened.

While organizing some documents on the table next to her, Clara didn't even notice when Arthur looked up from his notebook just to silently observe her. He knew numbers, business, and strategies… but he had no idea what to do with the feeling that grew every time she smiled near him.

Because Arthur was in love with his own secretary.
