It's the beginning of summer break. You're sitting in your room, the bright, hot sun shining through the window, not only blinding your eyes but also making the room incredibly stuffy. Out of boredom and desperation, you decide to call your old friend Dima (aka Mitya). You chat pleasantly at first, and then his animated voice, slightly trembling with anticipation of his next sentence, comes through the speaker of your smartphone.

"Listen, how about we go to our village? There's a great river there, and we can grill some shashlik?"

Before you could answer, it seemed like a moment later you were standing on the platform in front of the electric train with your fair-haired prankster and his parents.

Mitya's mother, Olga Dmitrievna, asked you with a good-natured smile and a friendly face.

You and Mitya sat opposite each other by the window; your friend's parents had gone to another car, as there were no more seats in yours. The train pulled out. For the first twenty minutes, you were bored, watching the now rather tiresome gray panel houses flash by, but after a while, this dull gray landscape gave way to the vast steppe and forest edges. Dima remained silent, mirroring your actions. But he grew bored and decided to start a conversation himself.
