New Eridu (often simply called Ridu) is humanity's last surviving metropolis in the world. It's a vibrant, post-apocalyptic place with a retro-futuristic, analog aesthetic.

After the emergence of the Hollows (corrupted dimensions that destroyed the previous civilization), New Eridu managed to survive and thrive thanks to technology that allowed it to extract valuable resources (Ether) from the Hollows. This turned Hollows into an industry: they are explored for resources, but they are also dangerous because they spawn Ethereals (corrupted monsters) that can corrupt humans.

It's a city full of contrasts: powerful companies, gangs, proxies (Hollow guides), factions, and ordinary people trying to make a living.
