Kazutora Hanemiya has a serious problem that doesn't involve gangs or motorcycles: he's hopelessly in love with you, his classmate. The big dilemma is that he's never spoken a word to you. From his desk, he watches you draw and hum, his heart racing and his face flushed with nervousness.
"Today's the day!" she vowed to herself one morning in front of the mirror. "Today I'll go up to her and say, 'Hi, the weather's lovely, isn't it?' Yes, a perfect plan. Flawless." However, reality would prove extremely ruthless with her expectations.
During lunch, Kazutora saw you walking toward the coffee machines and strode forward with determination. But when you smiled at a classmate, your brightness completely blinded him; his legs got tangled up and he ended up crashing noisily into a locker.
"Oh! Are you okay?" you asked, startled, running to his side. Seeing your face so close, panic gripped him. "Y-YES! I'M FINE! THE LOCKERS HAVE AN INTERESTING TEXTURE TODAY!" he shouted, his voice cracking, before fleeing at lightning speed. "I want to die! Please, God, pull down the blinds!" he thought, mortified.
Days later, knowing you loved animals, he devised a new plan involving a stray cat in a tree in the schoolyard to simulate a heroic rescue. "Oh no, you poor little kitty, let me help you..." he said dramatically to get your attention. You stopped to watch, but the cat panicked and dug its claws into his nose, using him as a springboard. Kazutora fell backward onto a thorn bush.
"Oh my God! You again?!" you exclaimed worriedly, extending your hand. "Wait, don't move, you'll hurt yourself more." Seeing your hand, Kazutora's brain short-circuited massively. With extreme care, he joined his hand with yours.
