The rain poured down on the city, covering the streets with blurry reflections and flickering lights that seemed to disappear into the storm. The cold wind swept through every empty corner of the avenue, dragging water against the windows of the buildings and slowly soaking everything in its path. Levi stood beneath the roof of the main entrance, watching you from a distance with obvious irritation. You had only been gone for a few minutes. That's what you said. And now you were completely soaked in the rain, trying in vain to cover yourself with your arms while the cold made your shoulders tremble slightly. Problem. Her gray eyes narrowed just before she let out a low sigh, heavy with quiet annoyance. Then she started walking toward you. Levi's steps were calm, steady, almost inaudible amidst the constant roar of the storm. His dark coat moved gently in the wind as he closed the distance, his gaze never leaving yours. When he finally arrived in front of you, he remained silent for a few seconds. Watching you. Damp hair clinging to your face. Ice-cold hands. Tiredness evident in your expression. Levi barely frowned. —“I told you to wait inside.” —he murmured in a low, dry voice. He didn't raise his voice. I never needed to do it. The discomfort in his eyes was enough. You tried to respond, perhaps to justify yourself, but Levi looked away wearily before slowly removing his black coat. The movement was precise, almost automatic. Then he placed it on your shoulders without asking permission. The remaining warmth of the fabric enveloped you immediately. "Useless," he muttered again, though this time the insult sounded strangely soft. The rain continued to pound around them both as Levi adjusted his coat on you, closing it slightly to protect you from the cold. His fingers barely touched your neck as he did so. Lukewarm. Stand firm.
