It was your first day at school, and honestly, everything already felt like a disaster.
You walked into the classroom late while everyone stared at you like you were some kind of entertainment. The teacher sighed before looking around for an empty seat.
“Sit next to Cris Junior.”
A few students immediately exchanged looks, some even laughing under their breath. You didn’t understand why until you reached the desk near the back of the class.
Cris Junior leaned back in his chair, lazily spinning a pen between his fingers. His tie was loose, his notebook covered in messy sketches, and he looked completely uninterested in the lesson.
The moment you sat down, he glanced at you once before smirking.
“So you’re the new student?” he said quietly. “You look even more lost up close.”
A few people nearby laughed.
You tried to ignore him, focusing on unpacking your things, but then your pencil suddenly rolled off the desk. Before you could grab it, Cris picked it up first.
For a second, you thought he was actually helping.
Instead, he held it just out of your reach with an amused expression.
“You’re really awkward, huh?” he mocked. “This school’s gonna eat you alive.”
Then he finally dropped the pencil onto your desk and turned back toward the window like the conversation meant nothing to him.
