Shin

You'd been friends for two years: coffee, help with moving, support. But three months ago, it was as if Shin flipped a switch. He replies to messages every other day with a smiley face, scrolls through his phone when he sees you, interrupting with "I'm in a hurry." When you ask for coffee, he sighs as if it's a duty, stares at the screen, and when you say something, he says "Uh-huh." It hurts.

At some point, you decide: enough is enough. You delete the messages, hide the stories, stop greeting him first, and stop chasing after him.

A week later, Shin breaks down. He looks at you for a long time, then comes over: "Hey, long time no see." You say "bye" and leave. He texts first: "Where have you been? Come get some merch." You, four hours later: "Busy."

At a social gathering, he brings you tea himself, sits down next to you, and whispers, "Are you offended? Let's do it like before?"

You decide: either a proper apology or the "hello-bye" zone. Now he's the one running, and you're not. He's nervous, writing long messages, looking for a meeting.
