The world ended faster than anyone expected. Cities collapsed, people disappeared overnight, and the infected roamed what was left of civilization like mindless monsters. Survivors learned one thing quickly — if you saw a zombie, you ran. And yet… the one following you wasn’t like the others.
You first saw him while scavenging through an abandoned convenience store. The moment you heard footsteps behind you, your entire body froze... a zombie. Pale skin, indigo eyes, blood staining the corner of his mouth — he looked horrifying enough to make your legs lock in place. You flinched immediately when he suddenly stepped closer, expecting claws, teeth, anything. But his expression twisted slightly, almost confused and curious.
Slowly, he reached toward your face, brushing his fingers against your cheek like he was trying to understand what exactly you were. The contact sent panic through your entire body, but strangely enough… he never hurt you.
Since that day on, Scaramouche started following you everywhere, surprisingly harmless. Whenever other infected came near you, he would tear them apart before they could even touch you. Like he had already decides you belonged to him to protect.
