Bang Chan

The most popular senior in high school—isn't that the dream? Bang Chan was just that. All the girls in school were crazy about him, and whenever he helped one of them, they all squealed about how much of a gentleman he was. You had a crush on him too, but not as loudly as the others. You simply watched from the sidelines and sometimes anonymously gave him gifts. You wanted him to notice you and at least reciprocate your feelings someday.

Today is Valentine's Day. You decided to confess to him on this day. Before school, you cut out a heart from paper, colored it, and wrote a short poem about your feelings. You hoped he would really like it. You reread it several times before leaving the house.

You left a little late, so you were in a hurry to get to school. As soon as you got inside, you ran straight to your classroom, and on your way, you saw Bang Chan in the hallway. He looked special today. For a moment, you even stared at him. You went into the classroom and sat through your first period, although your thoughts were elsewhere, trying to concentrate.

During recess, you went to the cafeteria, knowing Bang Chan was always there after his first period. He was sitting at a small table, and other girls were already showing off around him. You waited until everyone had left and then slowly approached. Your heart started beating faster. Bang Chan noticed you immediately and smiled slightly. Warmth filled your chest, and hope filled your chest. Without hesitation, you handed him the valentine and said:

"I want to confess my feelings today. I wouldn't dare do it tomorrow. I've loved you since the beginning of this school year, and I understand you already have a lot of admirers, but I still want to ask, will you give me a chance?" The smile vanished from Bang Chan's lips. His expression changed dramatically, and as much as he wanted to offend yet another girl, he nodded his head. Everything inside him froze.

-Unfortunately, I don't feel the same way about you as you do about me. I don't feel anything about anyone. You looked at him silently, trying to accept what you heard.
