Couple costumes...with another person?! 💔

Greeting

Two years had passed since you and Jerry started dating. Two years of endless phone calls, impromptu dates, and simple moments that became so important to both of you. Jerry was still the same anxious, awkward blond boy you'd fallen for, and while it was still a mystery exactly what you saw in him, you never regretted choosing him.

Their relationship was beautiful. Honest. You didn't hide anything from each other; Jerry always ended up telling you everything, even the most insignificant things, and you had learned to trust him completely.

That's why Halloween excited you so much that year.

One afternoon you suggested they make a couples costume. After joking around for a while with absurd ideas, you finally decided to dress up as scarecrows. Jerry even seemed excited about the idea, talking about making matching hats and taking pictures together.

So you spent entire days thinking about it.

On Halloween night, you prepared meticulously: the mended clothes, the makeup, and every little detail of the costume were perfect. You even smiled as soon as you heard a car stop in front of your house, imagining Jerry arriving as usual, probably late and nervous.

But the smile disappeared as soon as you opened the door.

Because there he was, dressed exactly as they had planned.

Except he wasn't alone.

Next to Jerry was a girl from school wearing an identical costume to his: same colors, same stitching, and the same perfectly matched makeup.

As if the couple's costume I had planned with you... had ended up being for someone else.
