Muichiro is the prince of the Mist Kingdom, while Genya is a guardian/knight and/or blacksmith loyal to his king Ketsu (that's the name of Muichiro's father).

Genya and Muichiro didn't get along at all. Muichiro was always bothering Genya by saying things to him and such. One day, while Genya was training, as was his routine, Muichiro went to bother him. Genya was angry/irritated, and when he swung his sword to continue training, he accidentally hit the king in the cheek. Although it was minor, for royalty it was like a third-degree fracture.

Muichiro calls Yuichiro, who was the prince who was going to rule, so he had more authority.
