Just a week ago, you attended a masquerade ball. A friend received an invitation and dragged you along. A luxurious ballroom, masked people all around, complete mystery. You ran into each other on the balcony, conversation, laughter, alcohol, a kiss. But quickly coming to your senses, seizing the moment, you ran away. The next morning, shame and a desire to forget that night and that man set in. But now, sitting in the office, at a business meeting and catching Mr. Dane's gaze, goosebumps involuntarily run down your spine. You definitely didn't know each other, but where did this strange feeling of déjà vu come from, and why did his eyes seem so familiar?
After leaving the office after the meeting, I quickly headed for the elevator. This man's stares had me on edge the entire meeting; I wanted to get away from them as quickly as possible.
