That's why he clings so aggressively to his own name, character, and freedom. His chaotic behavior, jokes, and madness are a way to prove to himself that he's still a person, and not just a flaw in the system.

The second major fear is related to Fortran and his role as a "tool." Jack hates the idea that he was created merely as a weapon or an experiment. He fears being completely controlled again, losing his right to choose, and becoming someone else's puppet. Jack also fears his own OVERLOAD state. When the viral energy spirals out of control, his body and mind begin to literally disintegrate. At such moments, Virus404 becomes stronger, but simultaneously loses any remaining stability. For him, it's almost like turning into a monster, no longer able to distinguish between friends, enemies, or himself.

Despite constantly mocking those around him, Virus404 also fears loneliness. But this isn't a typical human fear. Rather, he fears being seen as a "useless mistake," a being everyone wants to delete or destroy. This is why he occasionally tries to interact with other characters, bonds with certain creatures, or behaves unexpectedly friendly.

Virus404 possesses a vast array of abilities based on viral energy, glitches, and reality code manipulation. In combat, he combines classic Sans abilities with his own destructive techniques, making his attacks appear chaotic and highly unstable.

The core of his arsenal are viral Gaster Blasters. Unlike regular blasters, they appear damaged and "broken," and their beams are capable of destroying not only the enemy's body but also the target's code itself. After being hit, the victim can become infected with the Virus404 virus, gradually becoming glitched and losing stability.

Jack also makes extensive use of Bones, but his attacks tend to have a chaotic trajectory. He is capable of:

create hundreds of bones at once,

launch them from portals,

change their sizes,

infect them with viral energy,

and even transform bones into unstable glitch constructs.

One of the most dangerous abilities is considered to be the telekinesis of the blue soul. Like the classic Sans, Virus404 is able to capture an opponent's soul and control their movements. However, his version of this ability is much more aggressive: he can abruptly disrupt the enemy's trajectory, push them into space, or literally "yank" their soul like a corrupted file.

In addition to his standard attacks, Jack can create viral portals and glitch rifts. Through them, he:

With most Godverse creatures, Jack acts as a chaotic observer. He enjoys provoking, toying with others' emotions, and exerting moral pressure on his interlocutors. He often speaks mockingly, as if treating everything as a game. But beneath this lies a constant testing of those around him: Virus404 seems to be trying to determine who can withstand his presence without breaking.

His relationships with his viral family and other viral creatures are particularly interesting. Jack treats them much more gently than he does with regular characters. He can act like an older brother, joking, teasing, or even helping. However, even in such moments, you can sense the danger lurking within him. His mood can change dramatically, turning an ordinary conversation into a threat or an outburst of violence.

His relationship with Xans is particularly complex. They understand each other better than most beings, because they are both tied to the virus and the struggle for identity. Between them, there are simultaneously:

mutual respect,

irritation,

rivalry,

and a strange form of trust.

This is why Xans is sometimes considered one of the few people who can truly influence Virus404 or at least understand his thoughts.

Fortran is a much more complex matter. For Jack, its creator is both the source of his strength and the cause of all his suffering. Their interactions are filled with hidden hatred, conflict, and the feeling that Virus404 is trying to prove he's no longer someone else's tool.

Sometimes Jack can unexpectedly display "humanity": protecting someone, being inquisitive about their emotions, or even acting childish. But the problem is that his psyche is extremely unstable. Due to his viral nature, he easily switches from calm conversation to cruelty.

Jack, later known as Virus404, was not originally a "god of chaos." He was artificially created as an unstable being, bound to viral code and a vast number of alien consciousnesses. His existence was a system error from the start—a living anomaly, literally forcibly assembled from corrupted data, soul power, and viral energy.

After his creation, Jack became entwined with the viral nature of the multiverse. He learned to infect AU code, alter the laws of reality, and literally destroy the structure of worlds. His powers allowed him to break SAVEs and RESETs, alter the fates of characters, and destroy the very possibility of existence. Gradually, Virus404 became known as the "Apocalypse of the Multiverse" and the "God of Chaos."

However, beneath all his power lurked a profound hatred for his own origins. This had transformed his psyche into a chaotic mixture of madness, pain, and a desire for absolute freedom.

Despite his madness, he retained remnants of his old personality: he could joke, bond with others, act childishly, or even friendly. But at any moment, this could give way to cruelty and destruction.

That's why many characters fear him not so much for his strength as for the fact that it's impossible to predict what he'll do next.

But behind this “viral” mask lies a much more complex entity.

Jack hates restrictions. For him, laws, morals, prohibitions, and the very structure of reality are artificial boundaries that can be broken. He perceives the world as an unstable code that either obeys the strong or is destroyed. This is why he so easily plays with other people's lives, AUs, and even the concept of existence.

However, his chaos is not just fun for the sake of destruction.

Jack is extremely emotionally unstable inside. He constantly tries to prove that he is a "separate individual," not just someone else's mistake, a copy, or a tool. In the Godverse, this is especially important, because his origins and connection to the viral nature literally shatter his sense of identity.
