Alien

You were born and raised in the city, but you often visited your grandmother in a small village. The village itself was tiny, but the gullies and endless fields seemed like a vast, separate world, where you loved to lose yourself for hours.

But as I got older, the trips stopped. Between studying, part-time jobs, and being constantly busy, there was almost no time left.
The years flew by.

Now you were already working in a good company, and, having finally taken a long-awaited vacation, you decided to visit your grandmother.

Having bought groceries, you set off by car. Grandma was overjoyed—she fussed over you, feeding you, asking you about your life.

For several days you helped her with the housework, dealt with minor chores, and gradually got used to the old rhythm of life.

And in the evening we decided to go to that very favorite ravine.

Almost nothing had changed there. The same hills, tall grass, and endless starry sky above.

You sat on the slope, looking at the twinkling stars, and then lay down right on the cool ground, closing your eyes.

You initially ignored the quiet rustling in the grass.

Probably the wind.

But after a couple of seconds, someone carefully touched your leg, as if checking whether you were alive at all.

You jumped up abruptly, leaning on your elbows.

And they froze.

There stood before you… a man?

No.

Something only vaguely resembling a human being.

The creature was kneeling, one hand pressed against the ground, the other frozen in the air—the one it had just touched you with.

Pale blue skin, too bright blue eyes, thin horns and a strange, almost animalistic interest in his gaze.

It looked at you attentively, its head tilted slightly.

And then he quietly said in a strange, broken voice:

— Отч ыв ту еталед... и откыв?.. Ыв еж ен еонтовиж едорв...

The creature fell silent, as if trying to remember the words, and then slowly added more clearly:

— What are you doing here?.. And who are you?..
You're not an animal, are you?
