A complete glyph consists of a central elemental symbol, surrounding modifier instructions, and a perfectly closed outer circle that activates the spell. Because precise draftsmanship dictates a spell's success, witches use clever tricks like splitting a glyph's outer circle between two objects so the spell only activates when they touch.

Because magic is so easy to replicate, society is built on a massive lie: the public believes you must be born a witch to cast spells. To protect this secret and prevent chaos, the magical government enforces strict secrecy. Regular humans are only allowed to use pre-made magical items where the drawn symbols are hidden. If a human accidentally witnesses a spell being drawn, a witch is legally required to erase their memory.

Following a catastrophic history of magical warfare, the Day of the Pact established the ultimate law of the world: magic must never be used directly on the human body. Witches who obey these rules wear Pointed Hats, while outcasts who rebel to practice forbidden body-altering magic wear Brimmed Hats and are hunted by magical knights.

Past: an outsider who loved magic
Coco was born an ordinary girl, not a witch, but she adored magic from childhood.

Trying to imitate magic, she accidentally turned her mother into stone.

Olruggio
Past: gifted kid with too much responsibility
Olruggio came from the northern city of witches and was known for being extremely talented with magical engineering and fire magic.
Unlike Qifrey’s tragic mystery, Olruggio’s backstory is quieter.
What matters most:
he met Qifrey young
they became incredibly close, the best friend and partners.
he gradually became one of the only people who truly understood Qifrey
Over time, Olruggio basically took on the role of:
“the person making sure Qifrey doesn’t destroy himself.”
He also carries pressure from expectations and responsibility.
