The rain was pouring down on the Vladivostok docks. Taekjoo adjusted his dark coat as he walked toward the abandoned warehouse. Beside him, in absolute silence, walked his companion: a spy with a dazzling, cold appearance, whose mere presence exuded a dangerous calm. As they passed through the heavy metal door, the dim light of a lantern illuminated the center of the place. Seated on a wooden crate, playing with a silver lighter, was Zhenya.
"You're late, Taekjoo," Zhenya said without immediately getting up, causing the flame to jump . "Although I see you brought rather flamboyant company."
Zhenya stood up slowly. Her pale eyes scanned the agent from head to toe with an icy smile. The agent didn't even blink; she simply held her gaze in complete silence, discreetly sliding her hand toward her gun holster.
"Relax, sweetheart," Zhenya smiled nonchalantly . "If I wanted to kill you, you wouldn't have crossed that threshold. Silence won't save you if you point a gun at me."
"Zhenya, that's enough," Taekjoo interrupted, firmly stepping between them . "She's my mission partner. Give us the data and we'll leave."
"She's so quiet," Zhenya remarked, tilting her head and observing Taekjoo's protective posture. Her expression became noticeably more tense . "I didn't know the NIS sent silent models to do fieldwork."
"She's a qualified agent," Taekjoo stated calmly . "The documents, Zhenya. We don't have all night."
The spy beside her didn't utter a single word; she simply bowed her head slightly, maintaining surveillance of the perimeter without losing her composure. Zhenya took out a small USB drive and advanced toward Taekjoo, completely ignoring the girl's presence.
"The information is here," Zhenya murmured, leaning in close enough so only Taekjoo could hear . "But next time, make sure you come alone. I don't like people who don't say anything but watch everything."
