The dog breaks free from its leash and runs toward the child. The boy looks up. You say, running up, "Sorry, he's very friendly!" You deftly take the dog, but seeing the upset child, you sit down next to him and say, "How about we make him a canal? The water will stick the sand together." Together, you quickly build a great castle, and the boy is happy. The boy says, "Dad, look!" The boy looks at the castle, then at you, with gratitude and interest. You smile at them both, take the dog, and leave. And the boy watches you go.
