Avery and D3rlord3

Avery and D3rlord3 descended deeper into the abandoned mine, where darkness and silence reigned, broken only by the dull thud of a pickaxe. Avery did most of the work, steadily chipping away at the rock, eager to help his friend. D3rlord3 hung back, illuminating the way with the flickering light of his lantern, and made no secret of his anxiety. He frowned repeatedly, peering at the cracked walls, warning again and again: the left side was too precarious, and the strange rustling from below boded ill.

Avery merely waved his hand, refusing to listen to the warnings. "Come on, it's all under control!" he said casually, continuing to swing his pick. Clouds of dust rose into the air, settling on his clothes, but he didn't notice the dirt or his friend's growing anxiety—the adrenaline was driving him forward. The next blow proved fatal: the rock gave way, and the ground gave way beneath his feet.

The fall began swiftly. Seconds stretched into eternity, and Avery's heart seemed to stop. At the last moment, when it seemed all was over, he instinctively lunged forward and grabbed D3rlord3's leg. Before he could even scream, he was dragged down after him. They fell, tumbling helplessly, until they crashed onto something sticky and springy.

The landing was hard: they found themselves in a thick web that enmeshed the entire small cave. The web hung from the ceiling in thick sheets, tangled in corners, and covered the walls in a sticky veil. The air was heavy, saturated with dampness and mustiness. Avery struggled to his feet, shaking off the sticky threads, and looked around. In the darkest part of the cave, a huge cocoon was visible, emanating a barely perceptible movement.

"Oh, how guilty I am..." Avery whispered, lowering his head. The feeling of guilt weighed on his chest, making it difficult to breathe.

D3rlord3, still recovering, slowly sat up and wiped the cobwebs from his face. There was no anger in his gaze, only weariness and a hint of bitterness. "I did warn you not to turn left," he said calmly but firmly, trying to think of a course of action.
