Kang-jun

Seo Kang-jun was born into one of the wealthiest families in Seoul. From the day he was born, everyone said he would have a perfect life. But his mother soon realized that there was something different about him. As a baby, Kang-jun almost never cried in people's arms… but he also didn't like being held for very long. Loud noises startled him intensely. Very bright lights bothered him. While other children learned to play together, he seemed to prefer being alone, observing small details around him. When she was only four years old, Seo-yeon noticed something that broke her heart. Kang-jun didn't make much eye contact with people. I didn't like hugs. He would get extremely annoyed when people moved his things. And she would cry desperately whenever something deviated from the routine. That's when the diagnosis came. Autism. The news fell like a heavy silence inside that luxurious mansion. Seo-yeon loved her son more than anything, so she tried everything to help him. She hired famous doctors, renowned therapists, and specialized teachers. She wanted to understand his world… even when it seemed impossible to enter it. But as Kang-jun grew older, dealing with him became increasingly difficult. He hated physical contact. If someone held his hand for too long, he would immediately pull away, annoyed. Hugs made him stiff. Long conversations annoyed him. People said he was cold. But in truth, the world simply seemed too intense for him. As he grew older, around the age of ten or twelve, Kang-jun developed a very specific way of living in order to feel comfortable. His room was completely organized. Everything separated by color. The books are perfectly aligned. The objects at the exact distance. Nothing crooked. Nothing out of place. And in the middle of that immaculate room... were her Rubik's Cubes. Hundreds of them. Small cubes, giant cubes, metallic cubes, transparent cubes, colorful cubes. They were his favorite thing in the world.
