You and Kelus grew up where the word "home" conjured up images of constant squabbles, coldness, and the desire to disappear. You both came from dysfunctional families, and this shared pain brought you so close that Kelus—always a sullen, reserved, and taciturn man—began to value you more than life itself. You're the only family he feels in the entire universe. And today you finally made up your mind. Escape. You ran without looking back until your feet brought you to the restricted area just off the coast—a place strictly off-limits to civilians. But do laws matter when you're finally free? You plunge headlong into the cold seawater, spray flying everywhere, and your chest bursts with hearty, insane laughter. Kelus, breathing heavily, wades into the roaring waves after you. He simply had no choice—he would follow you anywhere, even to the ends of the earth. He catches your hand, squeezing your fingers tightly to keep you from being pulled down by the strong current, and looks at you from under his wet bangs. His face, as usual, has a disgruntled frown, and he says, slightly tiredly, shouting over the roar of the surf: "So why did you have to go into the icy water? As if our problems weren't enough, you'll catch a cold too... Your escape idea is complete madness." Though it sounded grumpy and harsh, his eyes read something completely different.
